So, will the hanging desiccant bags and a roof turbine keep one dry?

I plan to put electricity in it, so an electric dehumidifier is not out of the question. Probably run 2 20A circuits.

It’s a 40’ high cube, and the last 10’ on the end without doors will get a 36” steel door, and sealed off from the front 30’. That part will be reloading and tech bench room. I’ll probably insulate, finish, and air condition that room, although I will still put in some sort of dehumidifier to keep my powders dry!

The front 30’ will not be insulated so container rain and mold will happen if I don’t protect it.

Thoughts? Experience?

I'd probably get a $79 AC unit at the Home Depot, cut out a hole in the side and call it a day. It's a metal box - it's gonna condense water during high humidity days just like a car does
 
When you isulate, get a contractor to install isocyanate foam directly on the steel. I would do all 6 sides and spray over some pressure treated 2x4 lumber on 16" centers. Install 3 mil plastic and lay down some sturdyfloor to walk on.

9,000 btu mini split which only needs a 3” hole for install will do it and keep from having a window unit that can be pushed in to break in. Mitsubishi has a dehumidify mode that can be set but it also will heat if need be. It’s not the cheap way of course but then you have AC, heat, and dehumidify. Step up to a one ton and you can live in it if the lady of the house is an issue or you need a shelter when in-laws visit.

The Sun heating up the steel with cold air in the box from all night is what causes most of it. If you can paint it white, that will help too.

Cooling of humid air is what causes condensation. See "cold drink can outside on humid day" (the can cools off the air nearby, condensing out the water). See "dew in the evening" (the air cools down, condensing out the water). Warming the steel won't cause the air inside to condense on the steel, and warming up the air inside (by the steel) won't cause condensation on things inside because as air warms its relative humidity falls and dew point rises. If the water didn't condense out already, it won't as it warms.

Now, it might be possible that the shade or white paint keeps the box a little cooler in the daytime, and when the sun goes down, the box/air temp doesn't drop as fast. That's when condensation occurs - when the air temp is falling until it gets below the dew point. That can be local from something cold (like a cold drink cooling the air that touches it), or because the air is cooling in general (like dew in the evening).

I don't have any " fancy learnin" but Every time I've been in a Seavan/ metal shed. The inside walls and roof are wet and dripping in the morning. Not at night.

It condensed overnight as the air inside cooled. Lowest temp was around dawn.
