@BatteryOaksBilly has a house that looks like it is 30x40 with a roof that covers full length front and back porches on the long sides. It doesn't need fancy architectural details, because the porches give it a functional, traditional look.

It could be 27x50... that's not the important detail. The thing I like is that it is a simple rectangle, less than 1500 sq ft, with full length porches on the front and the back, and a roof that covers the whole thing, including porches.

Billy, is that house stick built, or a manufactured home? I'm thinkin' of getting a manufactured home like that, soon as I sell this house and find a piece of property to build on.

Wifey asked me to get pictures of Billy's house when I attend on the 29th. @BatteryOaksBilly, can you post a couple of pics afore then?

I had sensory overload when I was there and didn't pay much attention to his house. But, it sounds similar to mine, minus the full length, covered front and back porches.

Mine is a 30x50 rectangle with about 2/3rd of the front covered in porch. No real back porch to speak of.

There’ll be room in the car for Wifey on the 29th. ;)

Sounds a bit like a bungalow layout.

Yes Mac, we're 60 x 30 with a 90 foot porch. Including the Gun Room and Bunk House we have over 200 feet in porches. Some 8 wide and some 12 wide. We Love outside living. The house was set with a crane in sections after moving here. I'm sure there are some of it on here. Look in the part where the pics of cars are shown. One of RS Corvettes is taken in front of the house.
Thanks for the compliment. It's simple like us we love the way we live. RSs Grandfather bought the property in 1929 for $600. 60 acres for $600 and I'm certain it was a strain to pull that off back then.
We have high pitched metal roofs on everything. Love the sound!! When it's really raining you can't carry on a conversation on the porch. As a suggestion, when you build get at Least 9 foot ceilings, 10 is better! Makes a small house seem more open.
