I got to shoot a Sig P938 (?) yesterday and I think I fell in love! This is terrible news. lol.

I'm not supposed to buy any guns this year. Dang it!

I'm going to see if Jim's has one I can rent and really give it a good work-out, like at least 150 rounds.
I could see myself carrying that gun!

That was my carry gun before the 365 came out. Good shooter and accurate for its size. If you ever make it to Wilmington you would be welcome to shoot mine all you want.

Thanks! That's sweet of you.

I'm also going to try to give Billy's a good workout next weekend.....lol....he really got me with that one. It was awesome!
I loved the idea of the p365, but it was just too recoil-y for me, so glad I didn't jump on the one at my local gun place.
The gun I shot yesterday had the perfect amount of heaviness and recoil for me. lol.

Please don't do that. The P938 is worse than the P238 which is was modeled from. It is not a gun I would trust my life to. Clearly YMMV

Hi, my name is Joe and I’m a gunaholic, welcome to the club. It’s a horrible disease, soon you will finding ways to avoid things like food just so you can buy a new gun. That’s when you know you’ve hit rock bottom[emoji2957]. Friend of mine has a 938 and I’ve shot it a few times, I had no complaints about the gun. It shot well and it is very concealable.

That's one of the guns in my carry rotation. I love mine, I've had it for 3or 4 years now. Accurate and reliable.
I be curious to know if it can withstand the Millie test.
Be sure to post your findings

The gun she shot is one I took on trade, along with a 365. It was NIB last week end at the gunshow. It had all the extras including an extended mag. I had it for sale for $500. It was as @Geezer said, the most Fondled gun in the building. Alas, no takers. Yesterday we shot the crap outta it. Zero problems. As @wvsig said, I still don't trust it yet. After the first 1K with NO problems it will be allowed outside the Gates.

Did you own one and have reliability issues with it?

No I have not owned one but I have shot them. I was a big Sig fan when the P238 and the P938 came out. Both were plagued by reliability issues. I could not get through a mag without an issue. The gun I shot was sent back to Sig twice. This was earlier in release of the gun. I swore off the P238 and it brethren when Bruce Gray of Gray guns stopped working on them because he could not guarantee the work or that they would run reliably. Maybe the newer ones are better. Sig has a habit of letting the customer beta test a design and refining it on the fly.

Well, the p238 was my first carry gun. Love that gun, still and always! I felt perfectly secure with it on my belt.
I still carry it when I see the family, as they're not into guns.

Back then I wasn't able to handle any 9mm I tried. So I carried my p238 for about 6 months, until I began carrying the RIA 1911 in 9mm.

*** But how do you mean by "worse".....failures? What?

Sigh....if only I had the bucks! That thing was sooooo nice!
But yes, it needs to be shot a lot before you carry it! I'll be happy to give it some rounds next Sunday if that's ok with you....I have lotsa 9mm in the car! LOL.

It sounds like you think I might break it! LOL. I guess if anyone can, it would be me!
Ask Billy about that Renaissance gun that had an issue....but not while I was shooting it! Whew!

Love the p938 and the p365 (love it more). I just can't successfully carry either concealed.

I too owned a 938 that had some reliability issues. It may have just been me but I don't think so. It did not fit my hand well at all. It was bought for my wife and she also was not thrilled. She may have limp wristed the thing to cause failures. I forget if it was ftf or fte issues though because it was a while ago.

I have a 220 and a 229 that have never missed a beat so I am a Sig fan and that's why I bought it for her.

Anyway, it's gone now.

Shoot it some more before you buy one Millie!

Since the Taurus Ultra Light fiasco early in my shooting life, I will not buy a gun without many many rounds going thru it. I didn't like the surprise of the Taurus. Do NOT want anything similar.

edit: Well, I did buy the RIA new without having shot one....my bad....but not again! LOL.

I get it's a carry gun, but I wish it had a steel frame. I shot one once and found it to be snappier than I'd like.

-signed a big wimp that normally shoots service-sized 9s

i saw a deal posted on reddit for a walther 9mm pp2 m2 compact. $350 shipped
Probably the best ever deal on an amazing gun...

If I can handle the snap, you can....unless you got little girl hands.....lol. And I've seen one shot by a guy with small hands, so.....

When this gun failed to feed Sunday I was amazed. It has many down and out now. The "issue" was a round that went down and not out!!! Thank the shooting gods it wasn't far enough down to allow another round to chamber. Could have been Real Nasty!!

I just know you'll shoot the hound out of it, and if it has any flaws all those rounds will bring them out.o_O

That would have been a very expensive squib. Squibs are the worst.

One of my first guns was a Glock 27, so I can handle snappiness, but definitely not a fan, especially in a gun I can't get a full grip on. Different strokes for different folks. :)

That's true, you gotta have those extensions on the little bitty guns, to hold up the pinky finger! LoL. You got big man-hands, I guess.
Lucky for me, I have medium-sized hands, and the p238 fits me well, and the p938 seems to fit me well, so far.

We shall see what happens after a long shooting session. Several hundred rounds all in a row will tell me a lot.

Millie, get a dang rifle already!
I'm working on shooting a bunch so I can do a 2gun match in a year or so.

I will probably get a rifle for hunting deer, if someone will take me out with them so I can see if I might like to go bag my food!

If you ever out this way let me know. Have a few dedicated hunting rifles and then more multipurpose rifles.

Don’t need a rifle off our house driveway, need to practice lassoing

Get an AR. They are insanely cheap right now & you'll have a fine defensive, competition & deer hunting rifle.

Ha. Remember when you were just a bitty thing and thought driving to Fayettenam to shoot was a long haul? Now you’ve about moved in a Battery Oaks!

Seems like ages ago, right?
I'm headed even farther afield in a few days: Rocky Mount (unless there's snow.)
