VA Assault Weapons Ban Dies in Committee

I bet Bloomberg and Northam are sh***ing bricks right about now.:)
I doubt it. Globalists like Bloomberg have been reshaping America for decades. Losing one battle isn't going to dissuade them from pressing on in their war. Don't get me wrong, I'm very glad at least this measure isn't going to become law (though several other gun control measures will become law in VA). But the globalists have rigged the game so that racial/ethnic demographics are on their side.

The most dangerous bill being proposed in VA right now has noting to do with guns but could have a profound effect on 2nd Amend rights going forward. The Gov of VA can only serve one term. In exchange for that limit of the time they are in power they are given line item veto. It is absolute. The VA Gov basically becomes a lame duck after 3 years because his appointment has a terminal end. If he or she could run again then the power of that line item Veto loses its greatest check and the state would lose political balance. This is why VA has often had Dem Govs but the House and Senate were always Republican because one countered the other. The definition of checks and balances.

Was this the same bill that outlawed silencers? I thought that was bill 961 also -but I've been known to be wrong before.

Probably, but these are also composed, industrious 1% of 1% wealthy individuals with a mega boner for gun control. They didn't get where they are in life by 'giving up' that quickly. just not going to be their nature. Now a few million more $$$ down the toilet and maybe, BUTTTT, successful people learn from their mistakes. For now, they will at least analyze the shit out of Virginia and optimize strategy and/or tactics further for next target. Lets just hope that target isn't NC (or maybe that would be better?). I forget what the priority list is, but I think Texas was on it too--would be great if they go after Texas next for nearly assured failure as long as no complacency and hubris on the pro-2a side. If they fail a second time, I think they will start to be less aggressive with their $$$. Well, because again, these people are not truly stupid. They didn't become successful and rich by entering into an endless loop of failure. but I bet my house they give it one more shot post-VA analysis.

Va. still lost, although they killed the AWB ban, didn't they get passed universal background check, red flag laws, and limit the amount of guns purchased. I thought I read this.

You are correct.
I question how the VA bureaucrats are going to enforce one firearm per month purchase law without registration and we know that registration is nothing but a prelude to confiscation.

Texas is not the bastion of conservatism and freedom that people think it is. The state will flip democrat within the next decade.

Just waiting for the heat to die down and the gun owners to go back to sleep so they can sneak it through in the dark of night later.

you are correct...
Texas Democrats picked up 12 Texas House seats from Republicans, mostly in North Texas. But Republicans still have the edge in the lower chamber. And the democrats picked up 2 seats in the US House of representatives.
