My next gun?

I've got a P938 SAS model. Was my daily carry gun in Illinois. ( Need my NC permit still). Mine was originally owned by a female competition shooter. She shot the snot out of it. She was also a trainer who taught women's only classes and allowed the ladies to sample her assortment of handguns. She said it never missed a beat when I bought it from her. I did a detail strip, replaced all springs and bought some new grips for it. I also swapped out the ambi safety for a left side only lever. I've since put a good 500+ through it and it's absolutely reliable.

Really like my P938, this thing refuses to rust and will even feed up CCI shotshells. No malfunctions but then I haven't tried to burn it down with a torture test.

The 938 is my typical daily carry. Carries like nothing there. I have since acquired a second one of them. I have never had a issue with either. Its a little snappy but not bad. Unless your shooting more than a hundred rounds at a time.

I moved to NC in ... august? wasn't eligible to get purchase permits for a month or so after i got out of the company-sponsored hotel and had a permanent address on file. Once eligible, i picked up 5 permits. I need to order more.

Consider getting your concealed permit, no need for permission slips from the Sheriff.

I got my CC permit to be able to avoid getting PPP, and in my county I think 3 was the limit. Dang! LoL.

i still haven't filed for mine. I still have my MI license though, but that doesn't count for buying guns here.

If I’m not mistaken, it also doesn’t count for concealed carrying once you’ve become a NC resident.

Take the class, it wasn't bad, shoot your 30 rounds and eventually get the CC permit....problem solved! See how helpful I am?
Jim's Indoor Range on Yadkin Road has the CC class, Tony is the guy you want to do yours. He does it every other Sunday, and it's all in one day. He was my first handgun instructor when I started shooting not that long ago.
My CC was done over 2 weekends. I'd rather just get it done!

I agree that it is time for Millie to graduate and get a CZ.

I doubt I ever will. I like them, but why are the slides so hard to rack? It's just a weird thing with me and these guns.

That’s fair...I guess it’s something you get used to. That same “pain” is made up for by a (in my opinion) smoother recoil impulse.

The 2A is my permit. I carry any place I choose to go & am way too old to change. I don't pay any attention to questionably elected bureaucrats silly rules.

I thought you were gonna get a long gun? Handguns are like a-holes everyone has one and don't think theirs stinks.
I might get a long gun, eventually. I've run across some I like. lol.
I love handguns, though. (Though a couple of mine do stink!)

All of my guns have recoil I can handle, so I'm good on that. LoL. Been working hard on hand and arm strength.

Though I have to say, the .45 is a little bit of a handful shooting with my left hand....but I can do it.

But I'm not ruling out a CZ at some point, they're sexy. lol. I just have about 4 guns ahead of one on the list!

They are, for sure. They brought me over to their side pretty hard core. One thing I have found though, is that in real use, having to rack the slide doesn't really happen as often as I think. Once its loaded, it stays that way until I fire it. When I fire it until empty, the slide stays open.

The only time the slide really even dawns on me is when I am at the range or shooting a competition (where you have to show clear). But even at the range, I load, rack, then shoot mag after mag and never really drop the slide.

So, while I think them being more difficult to rack is a solid objection, I do think it can be overstated at times.

Oh, and you get used to it.

lol. Yes, I could probably get used to it, and I may have one some day, the ones I've shot were awesome.
One of those is currently in ~5th place on the want list. It might be a while!

I wouldn't own one myself but you do you. I've repaired two now that went full auto because of a design flaw with the sear retainer failing. You have to be very careful when you strip them and reassemble. Easily damaged without even knowing. A 6-7rd burst of 9mm out of that little thing is a good way to shoot yourself in the face of it gets away from you...

Yeah, and what do you currently have again?

The following are what I think are a good basis for the start of a collection:

A good .22 plinker?
A solid .38/.357?
A standard .45 1911
A Glock 19/CZ P-07 or similar
A small backup-sub compact mouse gun Smith 642/442, Ruger PCR/LCP, Sig P365/SW shield ect.

One what?

I got to shoot a Sig P938 (?) yesterday and I think I fell in love! This is terrible news. lol.

I'm not supposed to buy any guns this year. Dang it!

I'm going to see if Jim's has one I can rent and really give it a good work-out, like at least 150 rounds.
I could see myself carrying that gun!

Sig 938, G21, G48, another 1911, and then the CZ. In that order, probably. lol.
Go ahead....say it!
Ok, I heard the call...

Hard as it will be for you to believe, I’m asking this question seriously and without any preconceived notions...

Would you explain the motivation for each of those 5?
