I sealed the charging handle on my AR-15 pistol in 223 and seemed to work so I doing it to the 300 BO pistol.
Will trim it on Saturday.

Kind of messy that way. I seal my uppers and grind a vent into the bottom of the charging handle to redirect some gas. A little blue tape and RTV and let it cure, then remove the charging handle and you're good.

BigFelipe you are right. I have not cleaned it off yet. I used some molly grease on places there I did not want it to bond to. That was about 2 hours after I put it on. I talked to BigWaylon about the hole in the charging handle but the ones that I use are ambi-release so I do not have that flat surface to drill the hole.

Hope to block some of the gas that comes back into the chamber and out into your face. There is a gap between the charging handle and the top receiver. Never had a problem until I put a can on the end of the gun.

if you shoot with a suppressor, the increased back pressure has a bad habit of coming out through the charging handle and right into your eyeball.
If you use silicone rtv sealant, it can hold up to the heat/pressure and direct more of the gas going out the ejection port.
Or you just buy a very expensive charging handle that is fatter in some places and has a has vent ports milled in.

Plastic wrap on the upper receiver tang would’ve made much less of a mess. :p

Angel kisses man. Enjoy them, don't block them.

I used one of these charging handles on two different suppressed Radian AR15s at the Big Daddy Unlimited Epic Shoot this year in Savannah.
Wow, what a huge difference they made. Pricey but if over gas is an issue., this is a must have.

Asadurum, I worked as a Range Officer for Big Daddy Unlimited Shoot. Wish that I knew you were in town. Next time in Savannah drop me a line and we can meet up to shoot (17 South R&G Club) or grab a drink.
