Thinking of a suppressor for my savage 308 and ar 308. Pros? Cons? I know there are many different kinds out there. I will have to do some research. Who has what? Quick mount or threaded. Serviceable or not ?
Lots of choices out there. I wouldn’t put user-serviceable anywhere near the top of my pro/con list when comparing options for a .30 can.
Do you own any silencers? If not, have you ever shot suppressed? (Just trying to figure out your expectations vs reality scenario)
I have a few you could try out.I do not own one yet. I know it’s not like the movie where you here a quiet little pew pew. I have been around a few though. I am looking just to quiet it down some.

We could meet at PHA one day if you’re interested. I don’t own a .308, but have 5.56/6.8/300BLK that you could see the difference (as an observer and a shooter) with suppressed or not with supersonic rounds.
We could even (assuming they’re threaded 5/8-24) mount them on your rifles for you to see the difference.
And it won’t make it Hollywood quiet, but I’ll take 140-145 dB over 170 all day long.
Either one is fine. I’ll start a convo with you.I see you are in Charlotte area. I belong to Rowan wildlife if that’s closer for you. That would be great to try a few out and see how they are.

I’ve got a 308 I use for hunting and could meet you at PHA also. It’s the silencerco harvester. It’s a direct thread.

Oh...… and the Paladin is user serviceable and full auto rated! I wasn't aware of that.
No point in opening a 30 caliber silencer unless you are shooting cast lead bullets. A user serviceable rifle can is just more complicated and more fragile with no benefit for the extra cost and complexity.
