Our garage was a mess since we moved in last May. Finally gathered enough courage to tackle the problem and spent a few days during winter break to tidy things up. Hung a bunch of wall and ceiling shelves for storage so the cars can park in. Finally got to work on my little corner. Had the Harbor Freight wood bench for many years and it works fine after I beefed it up. I planned to get another one to double up but it was sold out. It'll have to wait.

It’s sad what us men get withered down to after the wife and kids get their share ain’t it? Lol. They say they “love us”...they call us “honey” or “daddy”...and then tell us “oh you can have back corner of garage, you know, right by the heavy draft and bat nest”.

anyway, you did good with the space. Looks great.

Pegboard is the absolute worst space waster ever invented by mankind.....

Why do you say that?

I can agree that, in terms of surface area, you would be fairly on point. But, and a big but (a kardashian butt), how else would you utilize the vertical surface? In that sense, its more efficient than not using it, as it clears valuable horizontal real estate by adding items to a wall that would otherwise be empty surface. If you have better wall solution, I am allllll for it, as I am always in need of more room.

Looks nice man, love good organization

I finally got around to doing pretty much the same thing in the back of my garage at the new digs. Looks good. You’ll enjoy it.

Looks like he made damn good use out of pegboard to me.

Looks good op!
That wasn’t so damn hard was it?

Horizontal rails and hang on organizer bins..... Pics of your wife and kids and dog and cat.
I've had both and pegboard is the worst, in my opinion....

Way too neat, I can give you a wheelbarrow full of stuff to throw around if you need it. I would want it back after yours accumulates to an acceptable level.
The OP, like myself, has recently moved and probably divested himself of much *stuff*, as I did, thinking we would never need a lot of the one-off stuff for those one-off projects ever again.

I have spent the past 12 months replacing much of it.

You can get more space doing other methods but I love pegboard. Everything is highly visable and at one glance you can see if something is missing. I despise a toolbox and storage bins. The whole double garage and basement is all mine. Wife gets all the closets except one. Attic is ten feet tall with wooden shelves on two sides. Unbelievable the stuff that is new in packages such as tools.

Hell yeah...looks great!

I'm a bit OC when it comes to organization.

I've been turning an old horse barn into a shop. I've closed in the back breezeway wall, put sliding doors on the front, concreted the floor, rebuilt one side of the lean to tractor shed, emptied the loft of all the hay residue, next i'm going to redo the other tractor shed roof by extending it and building a kitchette, bathroom and shower and a den area with a wood stove and gas heater. I've moved all my tools and equipment up there. I've got a fridge stocked with beer and soda, my coffee pot, a microwave, 55 inch TV with dvd player and serius radio. I have a reclining love seat there now but I want a comfortable sofa when I get finished!

Sounds like you’re moving out?

My daughter is only 7 months old and I'm already getting pushed out.

OP, your space is way better than mine! Looking good!

Very sad.

This was all I had for a man cave.

Tell me about it. Though, as the laziest ' home project person' out there, I evolved very quickly to 'hoarding' little project extras and tools etc to save me that extra trip to Home Depot in future.

I had no choice but to divest much of my garage collection because I was moving from a house to an apartment out of state.....The 18 colors of spray paint and 5 finishes of protective coating, bags of obscure fasteners and drill bits, different sized hacksaws, variety of blades for saws, storage containers of various sizes and strengths, 'scrap' material....I've already replaced some and wish I had others. I like to 'DIY' on some things, either because commercial products dont exist/won't work or to pilot concepts before committing large amount of money to a solution im unsure will work.

One huge DIY skill I dont have yet but will start to learn once getting settled into house here is welding. I feel like the world would be limitless solutions if I could weld, ha.

I'm telling ya, these poor guys ain't holding their mouth right or something. I told mine idc what she does to the house, the garage is mine, 5 years later, never slept on the couch, and there ain't a dog house on the property.

The smart way is build the shop or building before the wife and kids come along its much easier.

Unfortantley I was not a smart man.
