I read a thread at another site about this and ordered one. I can confirm this ends the over concern of striker drag. No more Striker Drag. If you have a Pre August 2019 firearm this striker does away with the drag all the way to the case that so many have complained about being the reason they won’t carry the gun. Actually there is no drag at all. I have carried it anyway with no range issues and put a few hundred through the old striker.

This is the latest upgraded striker from sig. The tip is angled. The trigger also feels smoother, sort of like a .25 cent job does to a Glock. Maybe worth the 35 dollars plus shipping upgrade for an OEM part. Sig has not advertised or offered this upgraded part. I ordered this one last week from midwestguns.

Did you order this in response to actual issues or just as a preventative?

I had no issues with reliability. I did have striker drag all the way to the case, which sig says isn’t a problem, and then some on the internet on forums and YouTube such as Tim at MAC says it is a problem. Actually since the price wasn’t ridiculous, I was just curious to see for myself if it stopped the striker drag. It does. Now I have a spare striker assembly on hand.

Also the case assembly is different, it will have to be pushed to the side and back to put the back plate back on. Videos on YouTube on this updated striker.

Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Mine is one of the first batch. I haven’t had any reliability issues although it does leave those drag marks on spent cases.

Must be a popular upgrade. Everywhere I've checked is sold out.

Out of stock at the moment. I signed up for in stock notification from these links, and ordered one. They lasted maybe 2 days.

Got mine today and installed it. Note that the striker housing is a different design than the original. You have to twist the housing tab toward the middle and then push in on the striker housing to install/remove the back plate...YouTube is your friend!

OK I'll ask, did any of you check see if there was striker drag on your cases or just ordered because?

I shot mine right after I got it, and it was dragging pretty badly.

I always had the striker drag almost all the way to the case, but no reliability issues whatsoever.

I ordered out of curiosity given the price, as others reported it stopped or reduced drag. The updated striker for me eliminated the drag.

Seems they replaced plenty of strikers under warranty. I’d call ‘em.
They've had at least three revisions of strikers. The first ones were the ones that were breaking. The second ones weren't breaking but leaving pretty bad primer drag which I'm my opinion will shorten the life span. This third revision was released with the p365xl. It has run flawless. It has a chiseled tip. No drag and it's interchangeable with the p365. I figure $40 for peace of mind ain't a bad deal. If I could find one.

I've called twice re' my XL: sent slide back with prepaid shipping to have them get the tiny bolts out that hold the rear sight on. They were so tight I was afraid of striping them. Took about week and half to get it up/back. Yesterday I called to complain that the Romeo Zulu red dot couldn't be properly adjusted; quick reply by Sig rep: "we'll send you a new one and then you can return the old one with our prepaid shipping label".
I had a tracking number within the hour.

So, call, I don't think they will quibble about a firing pin.

New Romeo red dot came the other day and included a metal hood and fresh bolts. Its attached but with this rain haven't had a chance to try it.

Just had mine apart, was getting light strikes so cleaned out the striker channel which was full of factory oil and she’s running good again. Anyway, firing pin tip is chiseled, swear that I thought it had chipped and was about to send Sig an email asking for a new one.

Just got home and checked my brass and it has the drag mark. So is this some thing I need to be worried about or just another up grade?

Seems to be addressed by a simple upgrade. See if Sig will just send you a new striker assembly.

What is a primer "drag"? Have looked at my brass and only see a good round indention. Looks like my other casings.

Then you are GTG.

Imagine the striker indentation, then as if the round ejected with the striker still pressed into the primer, and leaving a "smeared" indentation.
