How are you killing your quarantine?

Honestly, my goal is to live as normal as possible.
I'll go out as much as I did before and be a patron of the same places as I can.
Spend as much, or close to it, as before.
Still get a cup of coffee a week. Still buy a record or two a week.
Still go play hockey.

I work from home. I leave my house once or twice a week to go out to dinner or go shooting. I have no travel plans.

I don’t go to sports, conferences, concerts, bars, meetings...

To look at my life, the only way to spot a difference would be that I’m not going out to eat.
Just like Me...i mean me.

One of these days, I’m going to learn not to open certain threads. One of these days...

Well to be fair, I posted that I was LANDSCAPING. As in doing a little work with weed fabric, gravel and border around my house's foundation.

Then one of my fellow mods or admins made it weird.

And then since I thought it was funny I just left it.

But now that you mention it, it really is time for a trim.

o_O:eek:

The company I work for instated a hiring freeze and stopped overtime. I’m not sure what that will accomplish but they can say they “did something”.

Mine can't keep people hired and trained and instituted mandatory overtime. Welcome to the panicked food supply chain. And DOT waived our hours of service for on duty and driving. Pulled 14.5 hours yesterday. Pushing dispatch back today by about 4 hours to try and stop the detention time waiting for trailers to load.

still working while the single mothers all around me complain that they shouldn't have to work while their kids are out of school.
Some of the married moms too, because their husbands are useless or something.

I got my "essential employee" letter on Friday, but I picked a hell of a week to take vacation this week...

So, I'm building a left handed Roubo workbench for the new garage.

I talk to my nervous bff daily, trying to keep her calm....then I have to keep myself calm....lol.

Any day now, I'll be compelled to sort the 100# plus of various brass I have in small bags all over the house, I guess.

Still working but having to shift schedules around daily as customers close their doors, projects are put on hold, etc. We’ll take a hit eventually, but not yet. Focusing on keeping guys working and completing anything we can that results in collecting a check. Small businesses can’t keep the doors open very long without receivables.

cleaning/organizing. It's nice.

I wish this current unpleasantness would mean less work for me but alas.

The company I work for does have offices in Morrisville but we've been directed to work from home which is fine w. me as 99% of what I do can be done anywhere. But, up until now my management seemed to think I needed to be sitting at my desk where they could see me so this is a bit of a relief of that implied requirement.

But I don't have nearly as much free time as I was expecting... lots of outdoor projects I'd like to be working on before it gets hot like laying down a stone walkway beside the house, building a fire pit, spreading mulch, just generally being outside vs tied to a keyboard.

I have decided to pull all the pistols into one pile and do some dry-firing while on the mind-numbing conference calls. I really miss going to Triangle Shooting Academy in Raleigh... shut down over the weekend.

I’m working as usual since I work from home anyway. Wife and kids being home makes it a little more challenging. Having said that I’ve gotten a few projects around the house done.

Ran power to my outbuilding and picked up the xcarve (CNC router) from my mom who never used it. Also have been playing some doom eternal. Pics of a couple things I did over the weekend.

Work as usual for now. We are considered an essential supplier for the food service industry so we are exempt from the shutdowns. Overtime has been cut out but we are all still working a normal, full schedule. Thank God!

I'm retired, but right now I'm basking in pride.

My granddaughter just came in and immediately went to set up her laptop to watch a live stream for one of her AP classes. :)
