What did you do in the reloading room today?

I thought about reloading as I work my essential 70hr work week. I also thumbed thru the Hodgdon 2020 annual edition and yawned. Who really cares about .350 legend?

Yesterday, during stay-at-home, I processed another 700 pieces of 223 brass. Lubed, sized, trimmed, deburred, wet tumbled.

Rather than batch process all at once, I would do them in batches of about 150 at a time, until I had enough to fill the wet tumbler. I may repeat the process today.
I have put aside reloading for the time being, been working on the addition of 3- 3'x8' raised beds. This hauling and shoveling of 2 yards of bended topsoil is killing this old man's back:mad:. Should be putting some seeds in the ground today.

That's the only way I can mentally wrap my head around it.
I could never go down the the basement and process a 5gal bucket of brass. But I can always walk a beer down there and do a few handfuls.
Still haven't figured out if I'm going to run out of beer or brass first.....

Gave my oldest grandson his second intro to reloading;
First time was with his cousins, had them depriming some 38 special brass. Today I showed him how a Dillon 550 works. He even wanted to place a couple projectiles during the demo, so I let him.
Then he wanted to deprime a few more cases. Short but good time.

That looks like it would smack the living hell out of whatever it hits.

If I continue to “work from home”, I’m going to run out of reloading components. Loaded another couple hundred 9mm blue bullets. I think I need to uncover a single stage press and load some 223.

I've been doing just that. I've loaded 300 so far on my Lee single stage.

For the past four days my reloading shed has become my sewing room. Making masks for local ED nurses and also for some nurses that I know in Fredericksburg, Va. that asked for some. I am done for now with that and hopefully will be back to reloading later today.

I always think "oh, this will be fine- Range brass, process it, small batches, etc. etc. Escape from Wifey in the basement... couple bottles of hydraulic pudding... some tunes....
NO. And about 1/2 way into I want nothing more than to shove a rusty nail in my ear and floss with barbed wire.
I need to remember to go in smaller batches. This 'Rona20 crap may keep me down here longer than I have brass.

Well, I finally filled up that 5 gallon bucket with 223 brass. Fully prepped - swaged, sized, trimmed, chamfered, wet tumbled. Then I proceeded to load 200 rounds of 55 fmj plinking ammo.

I feel your pain, sized, swaged, trimmed, chamfered and tumbled about 500 this week and that didn’t hardly make a dent my 5 gal bucket of 223 brass. That is alot of work for sure.

I sure didn't do it in one sitting!

Carried out 50 lbs of bullets to the load shed and primed 200 pieces of 45acp brass. Slow day loading. Busy cutting up downed branches.

Pulled 2k ish rounds. A few years worth of rejects. Took a while but they are done.
I’m not sure I could decide that was something I wanted to do.

Cousin Jerry helped me set up a little single stage press for 500 S&W. A generous CFFr made it possible for me to get involved in 500 S&W again. He sent about 400 Primed cases, ready to load along with dies and several hundred 500 grain WW Silvertips. Today we loaded some 500 grain gas checks over 13 grains of Unique. Wonderful!!! Then we loaded some of the Silvertips in case of Vampeers. Thanks for my benevolent benefactor for setting Battery Oaks up in 500 S&W again. You know who you ARE!!!!
