Patriots -I see dark times ahead. I know this has been said here before in many different ways, and I don't have all the answers for sure. I don't know if the release of the virus was intentional, or if they just seized on the opportunity to begin the onslaught to our rights and liberties. I have been talking to some people in the farming industry, and they are closing down the food system in this country, in a few weeks -or a month or two, shortages will be here. I am not talking toilet paper -I'm talking about food for survival. I'm not even sure who "they" are.
But I do see a war with China coming. I have preps -probably not enough -who know what that is. But I heard a quote today from Stonewall Jackson. " When war comes, it is time to draw the sword and throw out the scabbard. That will be my stand if they want a war on this ground. I know some of you are brothers in the fight, others might think I am just wearing my tin hat too tight, but one of my signatures on this site says it all. " Give me liberty or give me death." Just something I had to put out there -it has gotten hard to keep track of all that is happening right now. Think I might read some scripture tonight and maybe the dawn will be brighter. Faith in God and strength in the people that are this country will help us conquer all. Be safe and be strong!

Closing down the food system?

I just dont see there being a food shortage here. Too many companies that produce, too much food in storage already.

Created shortage? Yeah, I believe that - I saw people freaking out and buying up fresh meat and the store shelves bare because of it. But I dont see the "closing down the food system in this country" happening as youve stated

There is definitely dark times ahead. Not sure how soon or how long they take to get here but they are coming.

Get things in order and be right with your Creator.

Jesus Christ man

Farmer said they were euthanizing hogs and chickens in the food supply chain in this country. Created shortage?

Is that not a normal part of the process in order for those hogs/chickens to become food?

Not trying to be a smart-ass...just asking.

Welp Im here to admit Im wrong
I do understand, now, that there is (at least this week, I dont know how long it will last) less in circulation as normal.
Not a complete stoppage of production, but definitely less.
Wild.

I apologize for doubting so much, I just didnt think this could happen

. More so because no resturants or anyone commercially are using meat or milk so it has created a excess, same thing has happened with milk. The animals don’t have a off switch like a factory to tell them to stop or slow production. The few slaughter house locations that have closed or shut down are a drop in the bucket to what really gets processed. Smithfields one location in NC processes close to 40000 hogs a day last I heard so you can see if that slows it quickly going to create a back up on the farms. Same type panic went around when the flooding of hog and chicken houses down east from the hurricanes.

IMO
Meat processors like a Tyson and Smithfield are manufacturing this shortage so they get a handout from the federal printing presses like other businesses.

Not that it's out of the realm of possibility, but by letting their employees get sick?

Do not know first hand (just speculation on my part) but it could be by not taking some minimum proactive precautions making sure that the virus does not spread across employees.

If the plan was to shutdown anyway to get taxpayers $, losing 0.1% of the employees as collateral damage maybe OK by some unscrupulous CEOs

Buyers are not showing up at stock sale locations like they once did. That’s for sure. It doesn’t take many processing plants to see empty shelves at the grocery stores. Farmers are not going to be able to hay feed cattle soon with new calves being born. You can only feed a limited amount of animals on a peace of land. Most little farmers are going to have issues with hay supplies come winter. With the price of cattle on the hoof the last year and thigh damnpanic they have some decisions to make. That bull might not get his fun for awhile.

I don't think anybody is shutting anything down in order to cause the end of the world. It's simpler than that, with all those closures etc there is an imbalance in the supply and demand chain right now.

Did I imply someone is trying to shut it down to cause the end of the world?
I dont believe so, Im not sure your point

That was referring to the OP that did seem to me like there was speculation it was an intentional act to cause issues.

Well as a farmer let me step up for a second,
Farmers are now throwing away crops because of restaurants/dining establishments are not open or are not operating at full capacity. There is not true food shortage, yes there has been some Euthanizing of surplus animals, But what You are mostly riding right now is the bubble of everyone purchasing and the demand on the supply finally Catching back up. This is the primary cause of what you’re experiencing right now. Now that being said if we don’t start getting production plants back up and running at full capacity then you will start to see a worst decline in goods. But one good way to look at it is or a little chicken farm produces enough chicken to feed the entire state of Wyoming for a day and we are a small farm so there is no true or actual shortage. When you hear about 2 million chickens being euthanized that’s not even a drop in the bucket to the amount of chickens that are produced every single day In this country.

I can say that the food distribution plants are having a hard time getting all their food in that they've order.
It sounds like about 60% of normal, maybe a hair more.
This is in reference to Central NC
