For the non-riders, that may sound like something inappropriate!!my wife enjoys touring to all the vineyards in NC on the back of my 97 aspencade...she even did the dragon with me.
It's not what you ride, it's that you ride,'n you dont quit riding 'cos you get old, you get old 'cos you quit riding.
Those Honda sixes are supposed to be hell for stout. I'm a HD guy, but could be talked into picking up a Valkyrie for the right price.
Not always. I stopped riding because I was injured and now I don't trust myself with 600lbs of bike. Guess I need to sell it.
Two wheels or three, doesn't matter, as long as your knees are in the breeze. Congrats!
Nice trike. But it's not a motorcycle. Motorcycles only have 2 wheels. I hope you and your wife enjoy it.

Please explain some more; I've never ridden a trike, but would get one so the wife would ride too. What I’ve learned so far, it takes 10 times
The effort to ride a trike vs motorcycle. Good thing my wife isn’t terrified.
With a motorcycle its virtually effortless to get the bike to go through turns and your weight always stays center line with the bikes mass in straight line or turns except when your riding hard and start to hang off to help keep the bike a little more vertical to help from dragging hard parts. The trike wants to plow through the turns. It takes considerable effort to turn the bike. Also thePlease explain some more; I've never ridden a trike, but would get one so the wife would ride too.
We are in the same boat. In the last 33 yrs of being together she rode on a motorcycle with me once and was terrified. Don’t get me wrong. They are still manageable. I do agree they are more of a Hwy bike that something you would want on a mountain rd. The more I ride the more natural it will seem. As for price it gets stupid. Really thankful we found one by accident and got a really good deal on knowing what I know know.It makes perfect sense, thanks !! I've always been skeptical, but I'm getting older now. The wife won't ride on two wheels at all, just looking for a compromise. Sounds like they're good for an interstate ride, but not everyday stuff.
I had no clue till I looked into them just how much more expensive trikes are !!! Let's just say that kinda ended my interest...
My buddy in Daytona has a Boss Hoss, and I've ridden it several times. 1200lbs. It's fine in a straight line, so Florida is a good state to have one. But any corners and you'd better be paying attention. You'd think they'd be the fastest bike on the road, but they're far from it. They got all kinds of motor (obviously) but the suspension and handling are hideous. They've gotten better with newer models, but when a 1000cc R1 eats their lunch everywhere, including the drag strip, makes you wonder why the attraction outside of the monster truck appeal which admittedly, does have a cool factor to it.At a Myrtle Beach Bike Rally several years ago Boss Hoss was doing demo rides. I wanted to ride one, just because. I was intimidated by the size and width of the 2 wheel versions and opted to demo a trike.
Good post ! That explains a lot. I’d love to see wheelies on these in person !!Trikes are expensive because the conversion kits are expensive, and there's not a whole lot of installers that know what they're doing with them. So you gotta find one of the experts somewhere, maybe far away from you.
Goldwing Roadriders Association used to do big rally's here called Wings over the Smokies. There'd be 8000 GW's descend on the area and you'd see every kind of GW you can imagine. Some of the Trikes were extremely elaborate with all the bling and paint. The Valkyrie Trikes were very cool as it's easy to hop them up with some intake work and 6 into 6 pipes, which have a great sound too. Wheelies and rolling burnouts..no problem.
There's several groups of brand riders that are heavy into the snobbery. Harley riders lead the pack here, but BMW guys and Goldwing guys are almost as bad. You can even have the same bike and they still hate you. Gawd. Lighten up Francis. You're a guest here, act like one..and 2..get the hell out of my way with your king & queen seat and slow-ass Parkway pace.

Never rode a trike - but I do ride a three-wheeler.

Now if you want to talk about weird handling, you can't get weirder than a sidecar outfit. I don't drive a sidecar because it's easy, I do it because it's hard. You have to pay attention to everything all the time, you have to think way ahead, and if you want to get anywhere you hang off more than you do on a sport bike. You can't stop, turn or accelerate as well as a solo bike; it pulls right when you accelerate and pulls left when you brake; you compensate. I have two wheelers, but I like this outfit because it keeps me on my toes, keeps the old gray matter sharp. Plus I can carry a week's worth of groceries
Plus it doesn’t stop well
Curious what the rear brake setup is?
Seems like these would be all about the rear brakes, unlike a motorcycle.
