Did You Go Shooting Today

Yes, talked two of the grandkids through their first handgun experience.
Only have a picture of the grandson, I was busy teaching and future son-in-law snapped a few pics.

Went to a match, G17 decided to it wanted to be a G18 on the second stage, went home.
Best guess is trigger bar engagement was poor, it's doubled a few times, maybe 1:5000 rounds, in the past that I blamed on grip/bump fire, definitely wasn't the case today.

Tweaked the trigger bar, may test tomorrow. Interesting to me can't recall my aftermarket slide ever doubling and on checking the engagement is probably 20% better when it's installed.

Trigger bar/sear engagement issue.

Yes! Finally......
Shot the new .22 Firefly, it's really nice. Shot quite a few drills with it, and the RIA, and the CZ.
Shot a HK VP9 and liked that a lot. A couple of rifles were in the mix too!

Perfect weather for shooting and talking with friends at Battery Oaks. Pie and ice cream were involved.

Watched a couple of young guys shoot various drills, and they were great---and fast! Wow.

I shot a bunch of 9mm autoloaders today in addition to several rifles and a revolver. Had a grand time. That trigger on my CZ still hurts my finger after a while, and my H&K will not hold back after the last round unless I keep my thumb far away from the slide. The M&P was probably the easiest to shoot, but the G19 and M92 were not bad.

I did make it to the range this morning.

Shot the Firefly a bit, had a couple of small issues, shot 60 rounds in terrible groups. lol. Nobody will here be shocked by this.
Did better with 50 rounds in the CZ.
What was your target distance?

Well what did you buy and what did you sell. Inquiring minds want to know:confused:

I sold a G30, traded a Sig P229, bought a M&P 9, and there was 2 other guns that day. It was kind of like some sports trades, trading for this to trade it off for that kind of deal. Maybe a G19 in there too.

I took a new guy to the range this morning.

We shot the FireFly, the two 1911s (9mm and .45), the CZ RAMI, and finished up with the revolver, with .38s, NOT .357s!

Didn't shoot lots of rounds, but did have some fun not shooting lots of rounds.
It's already too hot for me at the indoor range! Dang!

This is my range trip from yesterday. Did my usual Dot Torture (pistol-training.com), but this time instead of warming up with it, I did the FASTest (pistol-training.com) as my first drill, cold. I did that 3 times and did pretty well, for me. Unfortunately, this made me cocky and I tanked my Dot Torture (pistol-training.com) immediately after, shooting 38/50. Next I did the Baer Solutions drill (baersolutionsllc.com), 3 times. Finally, I ended with the Acceleration drill (pistol-training.com).

Start: 1110ish
Finish: 1300ish (would have been shorter but had to wait for a bay to open up)

I did!
Did my first long distance (to me) rifle shooting today! (Thanks to @Stick Man for letting me use his rifle/ammo!)

At 300 yards I can barely see anything, but the top of the gas tank was in the sun part of the time. I never hit that, but I was told none of my shots landed in a pond......I win!!! lol.
I just wanted to get in the general vicinity of the 3 targets, and I guess I did.

Much more shooting was done thru the afternoon, and lots of laughs were had. Awesome day with fantastic friends. What more can you ask for?

Millie, next time try a 15 or 20 round magazine. Much easier to shoot off the bench.
*On an educational note: why is a 15 or 20 rounder easier to shoot? Curious.

Dude, I shot what I was presented with. lol. I have no idea how many were in there.

That thing could have had 1,000 rounds or 5, and I'd have ended up the same....but I didn't hit the pond, and that was all I was after....

So the magazine base isn’t sitting on the bench. More flexible rifle and bipod positions. That’s all.

I typically only use a 10 or 20 rounder at the range. Having to stop to reload the mag more often helps save ammo. ;) I don’t want to be one of those tacticool blasters, although I do like setting up next to them. If they don’t save their brass, I offer to sweep it up for them.

I went yesterday, sat in the truck in the shade watching what all was going on, never got out, and just drove home.
