8.5" 300BLK AR/SBR vs 4.5" 9mm AR/SBR

Both are suppressed.

You can only keep one. Neither would be used for hunting. Range toy primarily with n the home self defense as a secondary purpose.

10.3" 5.56 SBR(s) already made the cut, which of these gets to move on to greener pastures....Go.

The 9mm is a lot cheaper to keep fed if it's mainly a range toy. As far as HD you still have the 5.56 and 9mm will make them just as dead as 300BLK.

ETA Of course the correct answer is keep them both.

My thoughts exactly.

Got neighbors close to you who might not appreciate a 300 BLK coming thru their house in the middle of the night. If so I vote 9mm.

Im gonna vote to keep the 9mm.

As of >now< .300AAC is pretty irritatingly expensive to use as a range toy. Eventually Wolf will release their steel cased ammo and it will be much more viable to hit the range and burn through a few hundred rounds. But as of now, its kinda painful to blast away with just for giggles. 9mm, on the other hand, is cheap and plentiful.

Also, .300AAC pistol kits are very common and easy to get your hands on, so in the future, when .300 becomes easier on the wallet to blast away with you will be able to replace it with a quickness. 9mm uppers and lowers (at least as far as I can see) aren't quite as cheap and easy to get.

Keep the 300blk. I look forward to seeing the 9mm in the BST section... I need a 9mm ar...

I've got some money burning a hole in my pocket...

I like 7.62x35 over 9x19 for Home Defense all day long. I like it better for range day too. If one has to go and the other sits next to the night stand, keep the 300BLK. 9mm is for pistols.

If you don’t reload, keep the 9mm.

I have both, reload for both, and also have a single shot in 300blk so gonna keep both for now.

As said many times above ... keep both ... you’ve already spent the money and time on the NFA paperwork to SBR each along with procurement costs so keep both is the fiscally responsible thing to do.

SBR'd lowers can be repurposed.

I'm trying very hard to declutter my space.

Maybe you should keep the 9mm lower, and sell me the upper... Then I can buy the 9mm pistol lower in BST.

Problem solved...

Man, I think a Sig MPX in 9mm would be a swell all around weapon

why you gotta bash my "hey I might think about maybe selling this" thread with your superior analytical skills?

Keep the 9 mm, that would be a good one for use by the wife and kids.

Props to you for trying to do this but realistically how much space does one long gun really take up? I feel like somewhere you said you were moving so maybe if your downsizing space is of concern.

I would keep both but IF you have to get rid of one then it would be the 300BO. As stated by everyone, it’s cheaper to shoot and your kids/wife would most likely be more likely to shoot the 9.

I really like .300BLK but in the scenario you propose, keep the 9mm since it’s cheaper to feed.

Are you some kind of poor?

I like blackout. It may cost a bit more, but not that much if you buy cheap in bulk or reload/cast. It's a far superior round in everyway too. Want a cheap plinker? Get a 22 conversion bolt and couple mags. Doesn't take up any room.

Otherwise, what @Flashpoint said...

Why...yes...I reckon I am some kind of poor.......

For me, it's an easy choice...... I'll take the Blackout, all day long. Load it up with subs and it'll do all the 9mm will do, but when you load it with supers it's a different animal.

I have a 10.5" pistol and I've only shot supers from it, but I can't imagine a more versatile cartridge. When Wolf releases their $5/box ammo I may get out of .223/5.56 all together.

Need to ditch that family and free up your weekends!

Keep the 300 and I’ll meet you tomorrow to pick buy them 9 upper

I haven’t played w 300 much due to cost. But for a range toy with a can isn’t it the best option?

9mm is awfully fun suppressed as well. Especially with short range steel like at Frank’s

:) That’s why I want one!

Hope to cross paths there one day soon.

Which do you shoot more?
Which do you enjoy shooting more?
Is cost and easy availability of ammo a major concern for you?
Is hunting a potential use?

i should probably build a 9mm sbr or arpistol.
my 300 is suppressed and sitting very bored on guard duty because its ammo is usually 3x more expensive than 9mm.
but if i do that, i'm gonna need at least one more 9mm suppressor.
