Well it begins double stack 1911

Following to see how you do the transition after the snoot chop. :) I left mine long and it still bugs me.

Went down to see Jeff Abernathy Friday. Got home and ordered some parts. Be in tomorrow. He has to mill on the frame a little and should be good to go after that. Hopefully get it back to him soon for that.

I like the double stack concept but Para had a whole slew of QA issues with them in the 90s, putting out a bunch of turds. Kind of turned me off of them, but they do look nice. I hope they have improved. That's a good looking gun!

I'd be inclined to find a sanding drum that follows the radius on the slide transition and grind it away to match.

well not going to be too many stock pieces in it. The frame and slide were made in Charlotte so I know it’s not that bad. Plus the guy doing the work on it knows his way around them.

it’s all just sitting in there no springs in it yet. I just wanted to see it together somewhat.

I didn’t even know Para was still around. I have one from the early 90s. From back when they just made parts, not full guns.
They are not around anymore. Remington purchased them and dissolved them. But Remington makes a nice double stack now that takes Para mags and looks just like it. But with a different logo. Hmmm.

I had a PO come through here that would lock the slide back with Every shot right outta the box. Obviously had never been shot at their factory.
New slide stop..BangBangBangBang

I like them, and I think they make well-made guns. But those double-stacks, I do not know if it was teething issues or what, but holy moly they had issues.

I know a few guys that worked there and they all said it was managed piss poorly. The guys building the guns kept telling them that they had issues and could be easily fixed. But they wanted to take the cheap way out.

....and that's how you tank your reputation. In the 1911 world, once you get a bad rep, it often doesn't bode well. SIG put out some 1911 turds in their Revolution series, around SN 10,000 or so, and worked hard to recoup. As I recall same thing happened at Sionics in the early 90s; a couple of their big builders started their own 1911 company in Burlington. Those were awesome guns, but I don't think they stayed in business long.
