I occasionally carry a G27 on one ankle. I use a G23 holster, and recently bought another G23 (trade-in) that I’ll probably swap to instead. Won’t be much different since the G27 mag had a pinky extension. 9+1+1 rounds. Ankle holster is from Galco.

What I’ve found works best is to also carry two mags on the other ankle, to even out the weight. That way you’re less likely to “limp”. I carry two G22 mags with sleeves on them. 15 rounds in each, so 41 rounds on me. I bought new sleeves to use G22 mags with the G23...just need to load them with some HPs. Double mag carrier is Desantis.

I carry a Glock 43 in Galco Ankle Glove. Prior to Glock 43, I carried an S&W J Frame in the same make holster. I've tried several and the Galco Ankle Glove has been what's worked best for me. @Slacker is Alessi still open for business? I heard they closed up shop.

I’ll second the Galco Ankle Glove. For me personally the G43/G26 length grip is the most my pants leg can convincingly cover.

Desantis makes a copy of the Galco Ankle Glove called the Die Hard. I got one for my 43 since the ankle glove isn’t super cheap and have regretted not just buying another Ankle Glove. The desantis is functional, but all of the materials are cheaper and less comfortable. Sharp seams on the Velcro and the synthetic lambs wool isn’t near as plush as on the Ankle Glove.

Galco ankle glove. The one I have is going on 12 years of carry 5-6, 8 hours days a week. I did send it back to Galco about two years ago and they replaced the sheep skin and neoprene band for $35.
I carry a 642 in it.

I have used DeSantis Apache holsters with good luck. Single stacks and sub compact double stacks work as long as you aren't trying to run around.

Be mindful that the ankle carry can be hard to access depending on what you are doing, but it can be a great way to stay incognito.

The nice thing about this one is that there is a stick/rod thing that goes down into a 'pocket' on a neoprene sleeve you wear around your foot. The weight of the gun isn't held up by the holster being cranked down around your leg, it's held up by the stick which end up pressing on the inside of your shoe. The grip around your leg only has to be strong enough to keep the gun from shifting around, not down. Way more confortable to me.

Lcp ii with a cheap Allen nylon holster. Its not the best holster but I got it for $5 and it fits the ruger perfectly.

DeSantis Apache for me; it will fit a lot of different guns.
Whatever you get, be sure it has a comfortable and wide padding between you and the holster. I also recommend being sure the calf strap is removable. I don't use one at all and def recommend trying it with and without one.

Ankle carry is a lot like shoulder carry; it looks easy, but it's not. I recommend trying it full-time for at least a week. If you can borrow a rig and try it out before you commit funds, I'd do that. And, ditch the skinny jeans !

Additionally, try it carrying the weapon on the inside of the weak side leg or the outside of the strong side leg. Both work, it just depends on what works best for you.

Also, we spend a lot of our life sitting down ( restaurants, offices, cars, airplanes, theaters, etc...). Ankle carry is truly the slowest carry you'll ever try to present from, not to mention the loss of mobility as you try to access the weapon from a standing position. If you're sitting, I recommend bringing the ankle to the hand not the other way. Then, practice shooting while sitting if you never have. I'd recommend not training to automatically return to a standing position after you draw, but engage from a kneeling position or a quick move to cover before engaging at all.

You will need to adjust your firearm to ankle carry; something too long snags on the pants leg as you try to draw and something too heavy swings around on your ankle and makes you limp like Festus. J-frames are great for this carry method.

Additionally, retention becomes of huge importance while ankle carrying. We bump things with our calves and ankles all the time and never notice it. I've personally watched a j-frame fly through the air during a foot chase after it was unsecured from an ankle rig. So be sure your holster has a good retention system and you check it often while the weapon is holstered.

Printing ? Nobody looks at an ankle except for a cop or a criminal. Don't sweat it.

Please don't take this as a slam or deterrent to ankle carry. It works. I just want to give you the info I've gathered in thirty years of daily carry, on and off the job. If it shortens your learning curve or keeps you from wasting money on a rig you hate, I've done what I set out to do.

Just my two cents (before taxes) from a guy who's done it before.

I do not know your weapon, but the Galco referenced above has served me well for many years.

Downside-get more pants or patches. It eats a hole.

If anybody in the Charlotte area has never ankle carried, I’ll loan you mine for a week if you want to experience what it’s like.

I’ll repeat the fact I think it’s more comfortable to have something on each ankle. You end up with (IMHO) a much more natural gait.

What are you packing, a Highpoint? :)
