Pigeon forge

Do they still have the chicken that plays a piano in Pigeon Forge? I spent a lot of time going through there to get to the Park 50 years ago but do not get that way as much as I would like. If you like to explore the back country in your vehicle, there are two one-way roads out of Cades Cove that you might find interesting. Both are gravel but well maintained the last time I drove them. The Rich Mountain Road goes north from the Cove to around Townsend. It is then an easy shot back to Pigeon Forge. My favorite is the Parson's Branch Road that goes from the area around the Cable Mill all the way over to the Little Tennessee River near Calderwood Lake. If you turn left at the end of the road you would go towards Fontana Lake on the horrendous road the motorcycle folks adore. I think they call it something like the Tail of the Dragon. I like to turn right and go towards Chilhowee Lake. The Foothills Parkway takes off to the north while you are still along the lake and eventually puts you back near Townsend on the road to Pigeon Forge. There are some very nice views of the Tennessee Valley and the mountains from that road.

Cades Cove is always on the list when we visit.

Did buds have a decent selection of primers and/or powder?

Will be in Sevierville tomorrow or Sunday. I have yet to find anywhere locally that keeps reloading stuff on hand....

So if buds does. It may be worth stopping by.
Buds has NOTHING related to reloading. Very little factory ammo. Do not plan to go back.
dollar a minute plus a dollar a shot for the firing range, and there was a line.

Home. Back to my kitchen, I think everyone in Pigeon Forge forgot how to run restaurants.
Friday evening, ordered fried chicken livers, big plate of fried breading. Enough liver for supper, but to browned for my taste.
Saturday evening dinner theater, decent but nothing special.
Sunday breakfast, ordered eggs over easy, got yellow and white shoe leather. Not the cook, waitress put order in that way. No coffee refill, only stopped by table once after someone else delivered food.
Tried to go to Cades Cove on the way home. Forgot it is Memorial Day weekend.
Hour to go 1 1/2 miles, turned around, another hour of backed up traffic to get back on U.S. 441. I

Yea we stayed at the cabin all day and hung out at the pool. Man I’m burned so is the boy ham, pintos, and rice for dinner all made on the skillet. I love vacation meals.

We cook at the cabin for every meal saves money and it’s fun and creative to see what all u can cook on a deep skillet and charcoal grill. But I am taking the wife to longhorn tomorrow we do go out at least once and enjoy ourselves.

Water is to high for fishing in the lower pigeon river so I’ll be heading to Cade’s cove in the morning to hopefully catch some trout with the little man.
