Josh posted a message on Facebook this morning saying he's closing his store on June 13.

I and a friend have bought several things from him in the last year and half or so. He's a great guy to deal with.

Will miss that place for sure.
Not sure why, I'll will reach out to him this weekend.

After Josh opened the place, his wife left him. He since met and married a woman from Tennessee and he's been spending nearly all his time there. So I'm not surprised he's closing out things here. I agree, he's a great guy to work with, and I wish him well.

I think you mean Jason. Jason went to Tennessee where he opened another shop. Josh has always worked there and always took good care of me and others. Itā€™s a shame as that was my go to shop. Hadnā€™t been in awhile damn.

Dang! I loved those guys. I was sad when Jason went back to TN but, Josh and team were great.

Admittedly, I haven't been in a while. I wish the all well.

Cheap transfer fees too, if you buy used on classifieds like me.

Although I have also bought some lowers and stuff there too.

I love that shop.

Any idea why? Not covid-19?

Yes, I got that backwards, thanks. I wonder why Josh didn't buy the place?

Once I bought a box of .243 and Josh offered me a discount for cash, which I supplied, and he didn't ring it up or give me any receipt. That would be a red flag for any owner, especially an absentee owner. I hope none of that was a factor in the store closing. They could have just been trying to avoid credit card fees or the tax man.

Dang that sucks. They were my go to for transfers.

I had been there a few times as covid was ramping up. Last I checked they were really low on stock and going "by appointment only"

If he was already thinking about closing that would have made it a good time to do so. Still a bummer.

Dang. Everytime I bought anything online, I had it shipped to them. Everytime I picked up a gun, I tried to also buy something like ammo or AR parts to help out my lgs...

I really liked Josh. He was a good guy...

Where am I going to go now?

I bet the owner was happy to be selling guns and stopped bringing in more in anticipation of closing it down.

I hadn't stopped by since covid started, so idk...

That's a shame. I've bought a gun from them and it was a great experience. I wish they had been closer so I could have supported them more while I could.

It was a great little gun shop. 90 days same as cash for me was an awesome way to buy guns I couldnā€™t drop all the money at one time on. Talking with Josh one day we figured I had spent over 10 grand there since they opened. Definitely going to miss them.

Who are you guys going to use for transfers now?

There's a guy a little further up hwy 55 that seems cheap.

For transfers somewhat local to north Raleigh and Wake Forest , I highly recommend checking out PopNShots in Youngsville. Roy is a home based FFL, and I know he is a preferred FFL for PSA, and perhaps others. He only charges $15 for a transfer and if you buy multiples, he only charges $5 apiece for each additional gun that can be put on the same transfer form. He can order stuff for you if you already know what you want, and is a really nice guy too.
