Did You Go Shooting Today

Yep. Some good some bad.

Buckmark quick shooting function test. I like it. A lot.

Glock 19x w/ new sights

Mostly left except when I used the bench for a rest. Sights are good. I am not. But haven’t shot in a while so all is not lost.

Glock 43x. Low and left. Way low. Going to have someone else shoot it, but wondering about a smaller front sight for this one. Big difference between it and the 19x. Either need a new sight, more time behind it or a new CZ. :D

What distance were you shooting?

About 10 yards. Nothing crazy.

I push Glocks left as well. I just drift the sight a bit and go on with life. If I am shooting slow fire it is ok but at pace I am left. Moving the sight slightly corrects it.

I was thinking that, but when I rested it on the bench it shot pretty straight. So it’s me not the gun. And there is a chance it may be a foster child that moves on. It’s not a bad gun, and I like the capacity and feature set, but I am a CZ fool for a reason.

For me I know it is me not the gun. It is something about the way interface with the gun. I used to buy a Glock 19 shoot it for a few months get frustrated and then sell it only to buy another one later. I was talking with Larry Vickers at the training some of us did a few years ago and he said just drift the sight. Its in a dovetail for a reason. Since then I have tweaked all the Glocks I own and I shoot them better at speed. You don't have to throw the baby out with the bath water.

Agreed. Or I can shoot a platform that works better for me. Still to be determined.

I traded for a used CZ P01 a few months ago. Shot it better at 50’ first time out than I did the Glocks at 30’. Guess I gotta weigh all my options.

Slept on it. Made a couple sale threads. :D

I'm having to work Saturday, so I took a comp day today and went to Frontline. I had some test loads to try out, in 30 carbine and 429DE. Everything shot well, functioned well, and had good results. I was very happy with the 30 carbine test loads, they were Bayou coated 115gn bullets, and I shot some groups @50 yards with iron sights that were as good as what I was getting with my 16" AR w/ 4X scope. The 429DE loads also shot well. Imagine a 44 caliber 240gn bullet going 1540fps from a 6" barrel. :D

Was able to shoot my new CZ SP01 today....shot like a charm. Was only able to run one mag through it because range was actually closed. Will be installing the CGW spring kit tomorrow. Also was finally able to try out my first reloads. Shot 3 rn and 3 hp through my PCR and they did fine. Can start doing a little quantity now that I know I won't blow up anything...lol.

Actually had some time with my son when he wasn't working or at his girlfriends house. First chance I had with the new 3 lug mount on the 9mm AR. Shot a few other ones we took, but the 9mm AR was shot the most.

Shot today and yesterday.
Yesterday was a much needed day a the range to sort out a couple of firearms.
Today got totally outclassed with a revolver by forum member @JRV at the southern defense pistol league match .

@S4f, it was great shooting with you. If you ever want to cross over to the dark side and start running your speedloaders out of belt pouches, @chiefjason is the man. Best of luck getting that Ruger’s ignition issue squared away.

The SDPL match was revolver-neutral this month, so there were lots of reloads. Mostly moderate distances. Lots of good opportunities to work on acceptable sight picture and trigger/transition management.

I tried.
There were 3 police cars at Jim's when I got there, so I drove on by. On the way back around I saw the range manager's truck, and some other vehicles, I assume employees' vehicles. Not sure what's going on, my mind went of course to another "incident" like in October, but maybe they were just protecting the property in light of all the gun store robberies lately.

A couple hours at Woodys today. Took the SW 27, Mauser HSc .380, Colt .38 Super, Colt .45, FEG HP frame with a Ceiner .22 top end. Also had several long arms. Great times but I wish my kids were able to accompany me these days. The Colts and the FEG came to me from forum members. Great shooting pistols, especially the .38 Super.

Nice case (guns too.)

As for the be FAL, I wasn’t wild about the cheek weld so I’m going to buy some rings to drop the scope as low as possible. I ran 20 rounds through and adjusted the gas setting, it really is comfortable to shoot when properly gassed.

Also shot my new to me S&W 44mag (not pictured). I ran some magnum rounds through to and man what a difference compared to 44sp. It’s almost the shooting 22lr in comparison, really a fun pistol.

Hit the range this morning,
Got a good zero on the Scorpion, and tested the Rugged Obsidian 9 in the "K" mode. Also I finally zeroed the PMR 30 after having it sit in my safe for 3 or 4 years. Had 6 or so mags that have been loaded for at least 3 years or more, surprising most mags worked well. Was easily able to smack bowling pins with boring regularity. I ran out of time before I was able to get a zero on the 300 aac, oh well no biggie will get it sorted next sunday along with the Noveske 7.5.

Hi BU2scwMJL ,
How do you like the Epsilon on your ARX100. I purchased one to get it pinned and welded to bring a Faxon Gunner from 14.5 inch to just over 16 inches.
It has A LOT of side muzzle blast, I even put the cage device on it to calm it down, fwiw I was sitting very close to it while my wife was shooting it, she loves it. I did see a reduction in rise tho

Put a few hundred thru my G17, no doubling or tripling, so I guess that's sorted out.
Having some grip issues I haven't had in a while way too much strong hand, sending a few low and occasionally left, and some god awful presentations. May have to pick up dry fire again. Probably drop the irons again for a while or forever.
Took the PCC, learned it hates truncated cones.

For the first time in months I did, actually, get to go to the range.

If yall remember that fine young lad I built an AR for, he and I got a chance to hit the ol hammers for the first time in months. Since his AR, the bug has caught strong. And being a big fan of milsurps, he picked up one of those SKS's a few weeks back for $300 or so from Classic or something.

Problem was, his first time to the range (without me), it wouldnt fire. I could tell he was bugged by it, who wouldnt be. So I had him bring it to me at church. After tearing it down, I realized the trigger spring was shot. I mean this thing was so compressed it made the hammer hit like Chdamn on an ugly chick....weak.

So, I ordered a replacement spring, wrestled that sucker in, and we went after church today. Thing sang the beautiful song of the bang bang. Made him (and me) extremely happy.

I probably went through 400 rounds or more of .223 with my ol'AR pistol and the rifle we built. Shot a bunch of .45 out of a couple of 1911s I brought. And if nothing describes this kid any better, I asked him if I had any guns he wanted me to bring and he didnt mention all the cool modern bottom feeders...he wanted my ol'S&W model 24 in .44 special. So we blasted off 50 rounds in her.

Got home, had a LOT of cleaning to do and a lot of mags to refill!

Heading out for a range day with one of my sons on his day off.

Which is good for the rest of the family because they are getting pretty tired of being stuck in the house listening to my daily ranting over the news.

Ran another 3 gun match yesterday with a good turn out. Today only ran 50 rds out of the G19. First five into and beating the wizard target. Then 120+ rd out of the M4, working on double taps while moving (forward, rear, across and diagonally.

Yeah I had a vg6 Gamma on my ARX, I thought it was great, but the guy that was following me around with the timer, was cursing me.

just went to the range tonight for some shooting before dark, there was another guy there with an A2 birdcage on his AR, my ARX was 5x louder than his AR with the Epsilon on it lol

I was near the coast at my gun club today, helping unload some new steel targets, setting up a stage for my boy running his new subgun, and by the time I got to start shooting in that humidity I was sweating like protestor in tear gas.
