i’m curious if anybody knows if these camo patterns that PSA is selling on these M1A stocks, are they Hydro dipped? Or are they printed onto the stock. I’m curious as if this is something that could be peeled up off of the stock with a heat gun? Or is it permanent?

I reached out to Springfield and PSA with no response.

I've got an M1A1 with the factory camouflage composite stock I bought new about ten years ago. That pattern is not going to peel off or come off with a heat gun or pressure washer. It's the color pattern of the stock. I don't know how they applied it but it is permanent.

Cool, thanks!

Its camo.......if it scratches or scuffs up a bit, paint over it!

The digital camo is most likely dipped, the other pattern with less sharp edges could be molded.......hard to say for sure.

As others have said, most synthetic stocks will hold an overspray if you don't like the color. Same for stippling, which many shooters love. Has to be able to adhere for for stippling to work. I would slightly rough up the finish with sandpaper before applying anything.

I'd wager that both patterns are hydro-dipped. Those patterns look to have too fine a detail in them to be molded. Hydro-dipping is also supposed to be a very robust finish. Molded in colors will usually have some variation between stocks, even when using the same camo pattern. I have a McMillan USMC camo stock on my M1A which has molded-in colors. When compared to another identical stock you can see slight variations.
