If one had reservations in ocean isle beach and decided not to cancel them because of this weekend's weather, what is there to see or do to make the trip not dull?

Never been before, so no clue.

Go to Southport and spend a day. Eat lunch at Provision Co or Fishy Fishy. One of my favorite little small towns.

Get a permit and drive on the beach if you have a 4x4 drive. Maybe go feeshin. Beach access on the left. Go to the orv office get a permit and there plenty of beach to drive and fish on. Freeman point by carolina Beach pier is good too.

Southport for the day and our two favorite restaurants Moore Street Market, & Fishy Fishy.

If you take the ferry bring a loaf of cheap bread or a sleeve of saltines, the birds will thank you.

@garvin has a place at OIB and he'll be there this weekend. Hang out and have a beer or three with him and he can point you in the right direction.

We used to do Ocean Isle and Sunset before we discovered Folly Beach. Haven’t been to the NC beaches in years. Let us know how everything goes. I know it’ll all be weird with the shutdowns, but should still be enjoyable.

DO NOT swim the channel between Ocean Isle Beach and Holden Beach. Too many people drown due to the currents between the Islands. Can't comment on what's open but would suggest St Nicks Nack in next door in Calabash on Beach Dr/179. Enjoy your time.

As we've discussed before (that we are both trained combat swimmers/divers), I did that years ago--25? well, 25ish. It's only a couple hundred yards between islands. That was a mistake, and I should have drowned. It would have just been easier if I floated/treaded, been swept out, and swam directly to the beach.
