And the first Glock in the house.
Glock 48. Slim as the Glock 43X. But barrel is about a long as the 19.
My wife has comprised wrist and hand strength so I have to be careful what I buy her.
Why the 48? My son bought a Glock 19. Unlike most pistols, my wife could easily rack the slide.
So I went to Area 52 and had my son compare the slide of his 19 to the 48.
48 is lighter and slimmer for carry.
My wife thought we were just going out for paint.
Wife was very pleased with her present when we got home.
She could easily rack the slide.
She needs more offhand therapy for a shoulder injury before she can fully enjoy a day at the range again. But she'll be trying this out soon.

How is Area 52? I've driven by, but never gone in. I think they're fairly new here.

My wife now has several pistols & a 5.56 AR. If yer missus enjoys shooting, it'll cost you more money, but gifting becomes much easier. Especially when right before Valentine's day they're oohing & ahhing over a pimped out Sig P-238, or tells you she'd love to find a .25ACP Beretta 21A under the Christmas tree.

Key is to let them find what they like & is fun for them. Bonus is, when you do that, they don't mind when you pick up something nice for yourself now & again.

I loved my G48 for the little time I had it, hope to have another one day. Congrats to her!

Area 52 is a decent local shop.
Prices are pretty good. I don't think I'd save much buying on line if they have something in stock.
If you order on line and ship it there for the transfer, their fee is $25.

Their t- shirts are cool. [emoji6][emoji16]

Are you going to do shield arms' 15 round mags for the 43x/48?

For your folks that are having trouble "racking" this will save them.....Stop trying to "rack" the slide. Have them HOLD the slide in their hand as hard as they can, then take the grip of the gun in the other hand and "push" the frame forward. Takes WAY less effort.
:D

Gonna have to buy some of those.

They recommend upgrading the mag release to a metal one because the metal mags have the potential to wear out the plastic mag release. Both shield arms and hyve make one. I don't have personal experience with either, just what I have been recommended by others.
