Hey! I am helping a friends family go through his gun stuff since he passed away in 2019. Thanks for any help identifying these 2 parts!

1. Mystery magazine. I can’t find any identifying markings on it. I can get measurements and more pictures if needed.

2. Is this part of a gun? It was mixed in with his reloading stuff and some random gun parts

Yep. M1 carbine mag. The mystery part looks like a rough stamping for a door lock plate, but that's a swag.
