The C&E Gun Show is at the Hickory Metro Convention Center this weekend. Rumor is it will be spread out to all rooms of the convention center to aid social distancing. So, if you come, make sure you check every room out.

We are going to be there. Anyone else going?

As of now Im planning a trip to SC this weekend, so I cant commit to coming. If something changes then I'll try to make my way up there

I'm going Saturday to pick up some M855A1 from cubrock.
I'll be the old balding guy wandering around, if you see me say hello. :D

A little far for me, but I do miss gun shows. How big do the Hickory shows tend to be, compared to the ones in Greensboro or Raleigh?

About half the size.

Ah okay! That's about what I expected. Too far to drive for that size of show, admittedly. But I am looking forward to the next one that's closer to my area.
Winston should be in August.

Where & what time? I'd like to have breakfast and catch some of the show....
Let me know. I’m not sure what is open for seating inside. Even McDonald’s and other food establishments are take out only.

If ever there is a good time for a mask it’s at the Hickory show. Most of the patrons will be mouth breathers. I usually wear a babies bib to keep my neck dry.

How has attendance been at shows since all the virus mess?

It was heavy last week at the little show in Shelby. People are buying guns and ammo for self defense in huge numbers since the rioting started. I expect a big crowd tomorrow.

They have dealers in the two largest rooms at the convention center. The regular room and the huge ballroom that most people don’t even know is there. Lol. They have things spread out to encourage social distancing, which is the reason for having it in both rooms.

There is a sign up front stating the governor’s mask mandate and that they assume anyone without a mask has a legitimate exemption.

From C&E's web site-

Governor Cooper has ordered that all masks be mandatory as of 5:00 p.m. on Friday. If you attend our gun show and you do not have a mask on, we are going to assume you have a medical condition that prevents you from wearing one.!

We hope to see you at the show!

Have a great weekend!

Yep, that's the sign I saw.

I see what they did there!!:p

I’m going tomorrow. Anyone who wishes to say hello can do so by looking for a light blue ball cap with a Penguin on it. I will only partake in the first part of the day.

@cubrock , Waddya seeing?

Pretty big crowd today. Several of the larger, new gun dealers did not show. One couldn't get enough inventory. Another was concerned about his health. Don't know about the others. Still, there was a decent mix of vendor types and plenty of guns for sale. Lots of private sellers at tables. One of them sold 24 guns or something like that today. More than I did.

Anyone with lower end ARs did well. Ammo dealers got hammered with business. They won't have anything to pack up if tomorrow is anything like today. Not a whole lot of people selling AR lowers. We took several and sold most of what we took at prices modestly above retail from a month ago.

PMags were a hot item. 5.56/.223, 7.62X39, and 9mm were flying out the door. Prices on the hot calibers were up 20% over last weekend's show and stuff still sold.

Fewer than half the people were wearing masks. A lot fewer, off the top of my head. People were polite and gave others' space, for the most part.

Good day for us, though nothing like the new gun guys and ammo dealers had.

I went yesterday to pick up a little M855A1 from cubrock and wander around a little.
It was a pretty good show and there were a few deals to be had. I picked up a thousand rounds of Magtech 308 for $400 out the door. I didn't get there until noon, I guess everyone else missed it.

I technically wasn’t at the show, but met Steve before they opened the doors and made a deal. I hope you were able to flip the trade pretty quickly. Thanks again

Yep. It went to a new home around noon.

That was a deal. I definitely didn't see it, or it would have gone home with me.

I never made it. I worked until 10:30pm laboring like a dog Friday. Then on the same job till 4pm Saturday. My back and arms were killing plus the self tapping screw a drilled into my finger enlarged to a thumb. Sorry I missed it. I wanted to look at older Winchester lever guns.

There was a collector there with Winchesters aplenty. High prices, but some very nice stuff.

Were there lines to get in? Limits on how many they were letting in at time?

Does anyone remember the name of the vendor in the middle of the main room who had all the pistols? Basically the only vendor there with a selection of pistols.
