John Wayne ... Really?

Wow, how much can they 'cancel' a dead man who hasnt made a film in decades, and, pretty much, only in one genre of movies. WOW, they're really going after the big guns (no pun intended) on this one!
 
Maybe they'll rename the airport after Bruce Dern?

The interview saw Wayne say: “I believe in white supremacy until the Blacks are educated to a point of responsibility.

“I don’t believe in giving authority and positions of leadership and judgment to irresponsible people.”

He also took aim at Native Americans.

He said: “I don’t feel we did wrong in taking this great country away from them … Our so-called stealing of this country from them was just a matter of survival.

“There were great numbers of people who needed new land, and [they] were selfishly trying to keep it for themselves.”

He apparently said some inflammatory racist stuff, but I live in a glass house so it is difficult for me to throw stones.

the sum of a person's life can't be judge by one moment or even one part of who they are/were.

Although I'm sure that all the people who want to "cancel" everybody/everything have lived perfect lives, free of wrongdoing and bigotry...

The world is going crazy (or at least the clickbait media on all sides keeps feeding us stuff to make us think that it is).

I'm guessing it was the Playboy interview he gave.
This has been out their for a long time,
The interview was in 71 or 72 and the airport wasn't renamed till 79 or 80.

@CZfool68 is unfortunately correct. As someone who has taken a college level "History" class recently, the text book seemed to be written as an apology for American History instead of a recounting of the historical facts. It was the one class I didn't do well in because of my reluctance to conform to the professors liberal ideals. I am not surprised that these same kind of people want to cancel The Duke. He represents the kind of American male that scares these feminized commie pinkos.
 
Orange County Democrats have apparently forgotten this. Watching it might make them change their minds. ;)
