Starting to dive into this caliber for my press.

Your preferred powder? What about bullets?

Barrel is a 1:9, 16" and seems to like the 55gr stuff.

Thanks.

Right now I am loading from several 8 pound jugs of CFE223. I have a jug of BLC2 next in line. I have used BLC2 quite a bit. I also have used Varget and several others.

I need to run down which powder I was using the other day in my Colt that has no flash hider. I was getting a significant muzzle flash with one batch of ammo. I switched batches and had no more flash. I need to find out which powder was not giving the large flash and continue to use it.

With 55s
I really like Reloder 10.
H335, or Exterminator are frequently poured for plinking.
Benchmark if I want small groups.

But really there's so many good options I just grab what's available most times. Currently that's CFE223.

Another reloader using BL-C(2). Good results in .223 and .308. Primary plinking bullet is 55 gr FMJ, 55 gr FMJ made out of .22LR cases and then 62 gr FMJ. Got several hundred 75-77 gr BTHPs also.

WC844 for plinking ammo, because it's cheap. Win748 is a good substitute.
For match ammo, I use Alliant AR-COMP

I have used CFE223, am surprised that nobody has mentioned ramshot Tac.

For precision loads 8208xbr. For my 8.5” AR pistol, H4198. For bulk plinking loads, WC844.

You know that nervous feeling you get when you fire a new reload recipe the first time? Yea, thats the flyer on the left.

Hooooollllyyyy cow this was fun. I don't know who to thank for recomending the CFE223 powder but wow! Sure, it was at 25 yards but it felt great and no issues whatsoever.

Jeep key for reference....yep, my Romeo 5 is off just a touch but still, I'm happy with the grouping of 10 that I put together today.
