Who knew the bicycles would all be sold out?

A recently widowed friend of my wife is selling her husband's fitness equipment. No bike, though.

If anyone would like to see it, PM and I'll get you the link to her FB ad.

I have a 26" Trek that I bought back in 1995. I can't ride it now but back in the days I rode it often. Put at least 1,000 miles on it. Very reliable bike. Should I sell it? I think I paid about $400 for it. Doubt I'll ever be able to ride it again. It was too small for me 25 years ago. I need at leas a 36" bike with an uprite riding position but they don't make them like that.

If you want to get top dollar for it now is the time.

Lets see... I have 1970s Schwinn Super Sport and a mid-1980s Panasonic something-or-nother that are in great (if dusty w/flat tires) shape in the attic, and a 15spd 1985 Schwinn "High Sierra" that I still ride on occasion. Are these valuable collectors items yet ?

If you get to Greensboro my bike shop still has bikes I believe. Cycles de oro...

What's top dollar? $100???
If it’s ready to ride, considering even Walmart bikes are sold out everywhere, I can’t see a functioning, good condition bike selling for less than $200 these days.
Throw it up on CL or FB and see what you get.

My "in-stock" bike I purchased online a week or so ago has a pending ship week of July 12th.
Nothing M or L was in stock at my local shops or the two stores that I called that were an hour or so away. There was one size large full suspension for just under $6k that I passed on. lol.
I already have a hybrid that I got at the end of last year and my wife and son were able to buy theirs while everyone was getting toilet paper months ago. But dang it, I really want my mountain bike!

CHRIS
Edit: I did sell our old bikes rather quickly on the FB. All three of them sold within minutes of posting them up. All the lower cost stuff sold out early and people were upping their budgets or snagging up the lower cost stuff on the used market early on.

Can't buy an above ground pool now for love nor money.

Y'all making me miss my old Specialized Stumpjumper. Deore DX derailleurs & thumb shifters & that lovely Prestige steel frame. Many miles on that in the Black Forest. The tricked out Cannondale I had later was technically a "better" bike & even with a nice Manitou fork, it didn't ride as nice as that rigid Specialized.

I should probably take the bikes that are collecting rust and dust under the deck & move them to the basement for repairs & sell them.
My son looking for the bike is 6’3” but long waisted with an inseam of 33”. Would an XXL be too tall for him?
He’s taller, but proportioned just like my dad’s side, my brothers and sons. The boys look almost 7’ when sitting, and they’re 6’1”.

Another option - https://bildabike.com/ They deal in higher end bikes and have sold a lot since the shutdown so inventory may be limited. I kind a know the chief mechanic there (my son).
They flat rate ship for $25.00.

There used to be a US based manufacturer who made 36" bicycles. Unlike most midget sized bikes, this is a bike made for tall people. They aren't cheap at about $4,000 but it's worth it if you are serious about bicycling.
Here, found it: https://dirtysixer.com/

I mentioned the sold-outness of bike’s to my brother. He delivers for Fed Ex and said he delivers bikes to homes every day of the week.
There are cheap ones and expensive ones on line. Mid priced, not so much.
