I heard plenty of fireworks around my neighborhood on the 4th. I have no problems with it............... Except clean your damn mess out of the street! I took the dogs for a walk tonight and the cul de sac was littered with fireworks debris. When it rains, all of that trash will be washed into the creek. People are such pigs! If you are going to make a mess, at least have the decency to clean it up. It's no wonder that they have to make laws against having fun.
We called it a night about 10. Tons of stuff going off in the foothills.
Kinda made me nostalgic..in high school shop I made a cannon outta schedule 80 and a 1/4" thick baseplate. Once I figured out that you really gotta pack it tight with a bit of newspaper to get the desired effect, we had a blast over the 4th..literally. before scoring a lb of powder (imr can..grey color..no idea what flavor) I would buy model rocket engines and tear em apart (took forever!) Or use powder from shotgun shells buddies would get for me.. cannon fuse Id get at the local sporting good store..
Totally lucky I didnt blow myself up in retrospect..
Damn thing rusted out over the winter. Never cleaned it after a bunch of black powder was used.
I may have also experimented with various containers and their robustness when it comes to high pressures during this time.
Yeah...I was a bit reckless then. Very glad to have my fingers and hands.
