Series premiere was last night. I recorded it but haven’t watched it. Didn’t see the movie (from 2013 I think?), or read the graphic novel.

Anybody watching this version?
 
It’s a tv show now?! I liked the movie.

Jennifer Connelly isn’t black. Not sure about lesbian, but I don’t think so.

All I can imagine is it’s all the districts from Hunger Games living on the train in Hunger Games. I was hoping somebody else would screen it for me before I hit play. :D

Pretty much nails it... Usual have/havenots stuff. This will probably be the same with a bunch of PC snowflakery added for good measure...
 
Based on the trailer it has kept most of the "flavor" of the movie which I really liked. It had style.
 
The premise makes no sense to me.

First, a perpetual motion engine and Newton's Laws. Don't get me started.

Second, that train is a closed ecosystem that would ultimately collapse in short time, let alone years, ending what was left of civilization. I'm not sure if the tv series follows the original story of a thousand car train, but there's not enough resources to sustain a population of thousands of people in that manner. Entropy is something the story creator never learned about in school.

Anybody watched the first two episodes? Or at least the first one?

We’re still working through something else and I haven’t watched either of the episodes, yet.
 
I like it so far. But then, it's fiction so I don't look to pick the nits about "That can't work".

But I watch tv and movies to get away from the real stuff, lol

And it was funny when I got done watching Snowpiercer and Alita:Battle Angel was on and I was I was like "Wait, I seen that chick before..."
 
Hmmm. I thought the movie was a complete waste of time. I only kept watching it hoping it would get better or just a little bit worse.
 
Finally watched the first two today. Know nothing about the book or movie. Show is at least watchable, so far.
 
It’s pretty good so far...watching this, new Penny Dreadful and Ozark. Just finished The Witcher too. That’s about all my brain can handle on story lines!
 
Watching the finale.

Unfortunately I stumbled across a spoiler earlier this week and the big surprise won’t really be one. :(
 
Season 2 premieres Jan 25th.
