I've stopped going to businesses (food type) that don't/won't re-open their dining rooms. Today I added Chipolte to the list. Walked in and asked if dine in was available and she points to ONE space that was open to be used. Turned around and walked out, she stood there with her mouth open....
Add to that, Chick-fil-a since they haven't re-opened their dining rooms. You want my money but won't provide service, bite the BIG one....

Are you really surprised by this from Chipotle?? They’re pretty liberal, started out marketing to the hippy crowd.

Your list of acceptable restaurants is going to be pretty slim. A large number are closed for dining still. I don’t care for it either but given what governors are doing, that along isn’t going to make me stop going there.

Many fast food chains have made the decision to eliminate dine in even when things open. Lower costs, lower staff, lower overhead, higher profits.

Sadly, many of the ones that are still drive-thru only are really really struggling with that drive-thru. Long lines, long wait times, getting orders wrong more frequently than usual.

Chipotle hit with $25 Million Food Safety Fine for Norovirus, Clostridium Perfringens Outbreaks
By Bill Marler on April 21, 2020
Posted in Foodborne Illness Outbreaks

“Although there is no intentional criminal behavior like there was in the Peanut Corporation of America case that sickened several hundred, killing nine, this hefty food safety fine for negligence, should clearly send a message to the restaurant industry,” said Marler Clark attorney, William Marler.

According to a US Attorney press release today, Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. will pay $25 million to resolve criminal charges related to the company’s involvement in foodborne illness outbreaks that sickened more than 1,100 people between 2015 and 2018.

The $25 million criminal fine, the largest ever in a food safety case.

Chipotle was implicated in at least five foodborne illness outbreaks between 2015 and 2018 connected to restaurants in the Los Angeles area, Boston, Virginia, and Ohio. These incidents primarily stemmed from store-level employees’ failure to follow company food safety protocols at company-owned restaurants, including a Chipotle policy requiring the exclusion of employees who were sick or recently had been sick.

I can't stand Chipotle anyway. I'll take my local Mexican restaurant that still has their dining room open over them any day.

They were the first to reopen in Eden, I was in there soon as I saw!

I miss taking my family out to dinner on occasion. We were going to a crappy Italian place Tuesday night and they had a sign on the door stating face coverings were required to enter. I turned around and took them to sonic instead. We sat at a picnic table and enjoyed a cool breeze and ice cream.

Some MCD open for eat in but not all of them, guess it is up to the franchise owner.

Know some people who own a couple of franchises of a couple different restaurants there is a lot of corporate encouragement to not open dining areas again. Drive through and takeout only.

If dine in areas were opened, they would have to add staff to comply with cleaning schedules and such.

Would not be surprised to see some open up "retro restaurants" with walk up and drive through service only, eliminating dining areas completely.

We have a small family run Mexican place in Broadway that we frequent one a week, they are struggling. Used to be open for lunch and dinner, now only open for dinner. Vast majority of their business is take out now even though their dining room has been open.
If they make it to the end of the year I'll be surprised.

Hate Chicken delivers now, no reason to leave the house anymore. And the kids come to the door or just as polite as the ones worrking the drive-through.

Sat in line 30+ minutes last night for Bohonglays...only to have them short me my pimento cheese on my filet biscuit AND no fries!!! Couldn't tell as it was a family dinner order and grew impatient in the drive through, so I didn't want to check the bag.

They all need to take lessons from the Chick-fil-A drive thru. Nobody does drive thru better than Chick-fil-A.

Maybe, but I can't stand to be trapped in my vehicle like that. If there are more than 3 or 4 cars already queued up, I'll keep on driving. Won't kill me to miss a meal, especially fast food crap.

You must never go to CFA then. I don't think I have ever seen less than 4 cars in the drive thru at the one here.

Not unless I can go in & sit down to eat. Love their food, but as a general rule, I prefer to sit down for my meal like a civilized man.

I don't do crowds well, either & we rarely eat out as it is, so at least this engineered panic has me eating healthier. Rather sit down, nom leftovers, read a book on my lunch break & relax for a few, than have to drive, wait, get the wrong crap & go straight back to work.

I get why fast food joints are doing this. Just means they've lost my meager business. I'd love to try a Cookout burger sometime, but there's never not a huge line.

In my opinion, she did you a huge favor and I'm sure your intestines are thankful. At least the couple I've tried have some of the worst food I've ever tasted along with Moes Southwest Grill.

Moe's marinates their food in stool softener. Change my mind.

Upper Decker for the win!
Me and a some friends were wasted in Boston back in college and wanted to leave an upper decker at Harvard SO BAD. All the bathrooms we were able to access were industrial toilets unfortunately. We were bummed. Would have loved for some up right tweed jacket wearing transgender philosopher with old British etiquette to have received the ol upper decker

Moes and chipotle are garbage. It’s dog food. Just get legit Mexican if your not gonna get actual fast food like Taco Bell or that other chain in Texas/Arizona

At least one Zaxby's has- wife and I went to the West Fayetteville store a few days ago and they had a guy taking orders out in the driveway.

We've got a couple good Mex joints nearby. I love Fiesta Grill on 54 in White Cross. Good, authentic Mex food & when I walk in, either the owner or his wife will ask me, "Carlito! How many?" while grabbing a Negra Modelo from the cooler for me. Much more my speed & their homemade salsa verde is off the chain good.
