A Seattle ice cream shop owner doesn't want guns in her three stores. She says that even police in uniform with guns make her employees feel uneasy. She says that the police should go home, eat dinner, take a shower, leave their guns at home and then come for ice cream if they want any. I hope the police are severely delayed if they ever get any 911 calls for any of her stores. I wonder how many CC folks ignore her signs when they go in for ice cream? I know I would, of course after this statement, I wouldn't spend a dime in her store.

well, easy target for a criminal since that owner will not call 911 and almost sure does not have a firearm for protection.

Kinda reminds me of that dem legislator and a MSNBC host that wanted to know where the police are when you need them...

The drag queen was funny though.

Uhh, who will she call if the police ignore the sign, the CHAZ security forces?

agree with @JBoyette it’s just marketing noise.

Good job for falling in the marketing plan.

People only do this crap to get exposure
Yes, they’ll get a nice surge in business from the liberal side supporting the “police are killers story line” and love the idea she’s not allowing them in her stores.

However it is also likely that the owner Molly Moo was a liberal prior to all the gun control and didn’t civilians to carry in her stores and with the bad cop story lines of late she saw a way to politically extend her views farther.

icecream is racist. segregating all those flavors into different buckets.
and who does she think used to milk cows to make icecream?
Madison, Franklin, Washington, and Jefferson all ate/served icecream, and they owned slaves.
I think BLM should liberate her money and property as part of reparations. And she has publicly supported them in the past, so I don't see any reason why she shouldn't give all black people free icecream to help offset her white privilege.

Is there any truly black ice cream? Chocolate is brown. Coffee comes close. Licorice ice cream? If she can not serve black ice cream she is a racists or, perhaps, a flavorist. That is even worse.

I wonder if she would allow them inside with a weapon if she ever called them after her store was the site of a brutal crime? Can they refuse to answer a call in a place their personal safety may be at risk because they would be unarmed?

Licorice ice cream is cultural appropriation.

Actually, I don't care. I don't like it, but this is America and it's her store. Just don't count in any favors from those that have the real money and power.

And that's my question. How long are the people with the real money and real power going to tolerate this mess?

Power is power.

So....equality under the law? No special privileges?

This is outrageous how, exactly?
It's hypocritical. Do you not think that she wouldn't dial 911 if being robbed and then not allow the police in with their guns? And, if I were CCing there and wanted ice cream, I doubt I would even notice her sign.

It's not hypocritical.

She owns the property.

She doesn't want guns on her property as a normal course of business.

She's treating EVERYONE the same, not targeting cops, but a blanket statement on what's acceptable on HER property.

And if she called the cops because of a crime, then they are there to fulfill their duties to the community, at which time if the crime was violent she would likely welcome in with their guns.

That's not hypocrisy - that's a situational application of her desires as a property owner

I may not agree with her on the issue of guns, but she's the property owner. As a pro-gun guy, I would make a conscious effort to take my business elsewhere and support an ice cream shop more in line with my principles.

How is this so difficult to understand?

How do you know that she would welcome them with their guns even if a crime was being committed there? Are you psychic?

SCotUS says yes...

No, but I do understand human nature quite well.

Stop being butthurt because a property owner isn't doing with HER property what you think she ought to do....

There's irony in that, don't you think? With the current cancel culture and all. So many people hurt or offended by everything. It's creating a paralysis in our nation, because everyone is afraid to do anything, lest they offend someone. Get the F*** over it and get on with your life! Oh, wait, they don't have lives. My bad.

From running and/or owning businesses, I like having cops as regular customers and I tell ya why.
My campground was the best example. Often the cops family would come and set up on Saturday morning, and when the cop got off duty at 10pm he'd come by and stay with the family. Just a local family camping for the weekend. I had a nice park with a pretty 8 acre lake.
They always..always..asked if it was ok to park the patrol car at the site.
Ab-so-freakin-lutely. Having a patrol car on site had an amazing influence on quelling idiot behavior, and I knew I could get a good night sleep.
The local cops, especially the Sheriff's Dept., loved my campground and often held events there.

One time the Gypsy's rolled in. Yes, Gypsy's. About 50 of them in 11 campers. They still exist, but use campers and trucks now instead of wagons and horses. They get set-up and swarm the local community with phony rip-off house repairs, mostly targeting the elderly, then hook-up and bail before they can get caught. I called the Sheriff's office and said I gotta run these people outta here and could a patrol car come by when I do? It'd be nice to have a badge in the background.
In about 15, 20 minutes..six patrol cars come rolling in my driveway. Six. lol. I talk to the guys and they've seen this Gypsy stuff before..and got no problem running them out. They know what they do.
One deputy, gawd..had to be at least six foot eight..goes to the leaders door and bangs on it so hard I thought he was gonna knock it down. They guy answers the door half asleep, but quickly woke up when he saw that towering deputy.
"Management wants you out! You have 30 minutes."
You never saw people move so fast. I didn't know you could hook up a camper that quick. :D

I just wanted one patrol car there when I ran these people out, but my local Sheriff liked me and this is what they did for me in appreciation. Regardless of how you feel about lawmen or whatever, dissing your local cops is a terrible business decision at minimum. From a personal stand, cops have always been great customers no matter what I was doing. Why in the hell would I alienate some of my best customers? These guys aren't klansmen by night and cops by day. They're just regular people too.

Lighten up Francis.

They’re just regular people too, who want to go home at EOW. ;)

All these anti police people, folks wanting to defund the police, citizens, business owners, politicians, should have their names and locations put in a database available to every 911 system. If they call 911 they should be advised of their anti-police feelings and told to call someone else for help.

This is good stuff^^^^^ Love it!!!

And today there is a thread about how three failures of the legal system broke into a guys house and two of them got taken out, I don’t get why so many people think govt. is the answer when it comes to crime and justice. If people had to take responsibility instead of relying on dial a prayer and govt. agents, there would be a lot fewer criminals and a lot less crime.

Just like the CHOP zone in Seattle?

Personally, I say "fine".

If they're not on official business at the location, then the business owner can say this as far as I'm concerned. A police officer wants an ice cream cone, he/she can go elsewhere and get one.

Now, if the police have official business going on...sure.

But since Seattle seems to be pushing to defund the police, this may all just be a moot point. Which, as far as I'm concerned is GREAT! I mean, Washington state passed Initiative 1639 last year, right? So they're all SAFE now, right? Who needs the police, right?

Make your bed, sleep in it.

Do they get to stop paying taxes that fund all that bullshit too? Along with a sworn affidavit that the State will leave them be, under penalty of law?
