McKloskey's disarmed

I have always been of the mind that it never makes sense to present a firearm unless you intend to use it in the next breath, but I also realize that one can never anticipate a circumstance that might prompt them to do otherwise.

That said, I think for those of us with a dem governor, dem AG, and dem sheriff, this would suggest that unless you intend to start blasting right then and there, you might best keep your blaster under wraps.

Or don't point it at anyone until they get up near your house. Maybe that's the angle the city is using, pointing at them while they were in the street? IDK, just a thought.

Mo. AG Eric Schmitt was on Fox the other night. He did not have good things to say about City of St. Louis Circuit Atty. Kimberly Gardner.

I had a discussion with a very politically active neighbor last week. I suggested that I’d be leaving Wake County as soon as I was able. She thinks people should stay here and get more involved in politics. She didn’t like any of my answers or thoughts. She asked if I just planned on shooting my opponents. I said no, that’s why I want to leave. I don’t ever want to shoot somebody. Even people I hate on a political level. I was choosing separation instead.

From what I read of the incident, the fine upstanding protesters had broken their gate and entered the property before the couple presented arms.

Nonetheless, if didn't already have more arms at hand I would be purchasing them and some range time posthaste.

I would love to figure out how to move one county over (that is pretty red and not very south of me at all), but I don't think the wife will participate.

My buddy in CA has told his wife he is moving to AZ when their son graduates High School. He told her she’s welcome to come along if she would like. :D

And he’s a big enough a-hole to do it too.

My wife said something similar to me when I used to talk about moving back to the upstate of SC where I used to live. She said I was free to go.
By myself,
or in a pine box.

I keep getting told that the police wouldn't follow these orders. When will the police stand against unconstitutional and unethical orders like this? What makes anyone think that active duty military won't follow similar orders if they are given?

They will do it as long as there is a taxpayer funded dental and 401k plan

Thin blue line again served and protected? All boys in blue returned home?
Then everything goes as it should. A couple of damn civilians aren't worth risking their employment and pensions.

Must've just sent the Few Bad Apples.

I have been assured that 99.9% of cops would never, ever do this, but would honor their Oaths, switch sides, and resist such things.

We get a weekly call from my wife's cousin in AZ. It is a hellhole if you visited this week. 115 deg, lots of brush fires out of control, refrigerated trucks arriving to carry the flu patients off (that's a fact). But life happens all at once. I would love to live out there. He assured us all that will get better in Sept.

My worry, if the next pres tears down the border wall. But life keeps happening. Maybe go visit Diablo. ;)

" ... there were no charges as the warrant was just for the guns."

Could someone please explain to me what kind of warrant that is? Because, if that statement is correct, that makes no sense to me.

Cause you're not part of the 'club'. The reason is above your capacity to understand.

Wonder if they have any “red flag” laws in St L...that would likely make it possible to take their gun with no crime committed and allow them to get such a “warrant”.

Also, even if they don’t have RFL in place, I assume this situation is just a taste of what it would be like under RFLs.

Pretty quite here in dakota territory

Wonder what part “infringe “ they didn’t understand?
I don't think it's the "infringe" that they're missing. I think it's the "not".

A big part of me wants to think that since they have the means to go elsewhere and hire security - they went along with an OBVIOUSLY illegal warrant so that they can sue everybody and win. They are lawyers, after all. that's kind of their whole gig.

“Mark and Patricia McCloskey, now infamous for a video in which they’re seen brandishing firearms at Black Lives Matter supporters, were offered a free AR-15 by a local gun store, after their own was confiscated by police.

“This couple did what they needed to do to protect private property, as the property was being ambushed. I’ve seen videos, and some of these so-called protesters were carrying firearms, and they clearly broke the gate to make way on to the private property (A THREAT),” the owner of Alien Armory Tactical, in St. Charles, Missouri, posted on Facebook, asking followers to share his message so it reached the McCloskeys.

He went on to offer the couple not only a free AR-15, but free “tactical training” too.

In a follow-up post, he called the McCloskeys “great Americans” and said others in the firearms industry had contacted him to say they wanted to donate weapons and ammunition to the couple.”

They were fairly left progressive supporters of BLM...I wouldn't call them "great americans." Would also be a shame for them to get a lottery payout from the taxpayers...that crazy AG needs to foot the bill.

Guns are typically seized in gun-related "investigations." Since they are probably having a hard time charging them with anything, this is probably their way of inconveniencing them as much as possible. It isn't uncommon for guns entered into evidence to be quite difficult to get back.

Agree with what you wrote but for the record, The a-hole in this case is the local prosecutor. In fact, Missouri AG Schmitt alleged that St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner, the prosecutor handling the case, has a history of making politically motivated decisions.

You are correct, thanks for the correction.

Am I wrong or didn't somebody post recently that these people had been on a TV program and said they were conservatives and Not BLM supporters. In that thread I posted that they should keep quiet. Which is it, this part is important ,at least to me.

Alien Tactical just offered up a few hundred dollar AR in exchange for God knows how much free advertising and business nationwide.
Smart guy.

Yes, I found it @Charlie posted it in the other thread. Man, how can something be so wrong and still be repeated'

This is important to my understanding of what they did. They said they were Life Long Republicans and did not support BLM.

I know initially that they were reported to be BLM supporters. Now not and now yes again. If a detail like this can be made so wrong how are we supposed to believe any of it?

I remember back when Limbaugh was funny, he did a reoccurring bit about the Federal government suing a Ford tractor. Maybe this is what they are doing, don't hate the person hate the gun.

Sir William, I like where your head is and agree, facts need to be hammered out and lies/misconceptions not spread.
That said, in the end, I dont care if they WERE BLM supporters or not, they defended themselves against thugs/a mob, so good on them.

I think the misconception started based on where the McCloskey live. I saw Dana Loesch on one of the TV shows and she said it is a rich area with a majority of feel good liberal leanings.
