Best get that floor epoxied while it's cleaned out.
I wanted to do mine, but that'll never happen
I called a company today to see how much it will set me back. I have plenty of storage space so the garage will just have the cars in it.
This is my inspiration minus the window. I also need to upgrade my lights in here to a led 4 ft’er
Any forum board members do this type of work and near by I wonder?Do it!!!! You won't regret it at all.
Oh and this goes in tomorrow... I caved and bought the home charger vs using the mobile charger all the time View attachment 230989
Are you doing the epoxy on the floor yourself?
Needed a new toolbox for the workshop.
Just finished replacing shocks on my truck. Rancho 5000x

Got any local recommendations?
You can do all the prep if you wantOk - I got a quote from someone else with fantastic reviews. They said for a standard size garage 20x20 I’d be looking at $2k with it taking one day.
This is more inline with what I had in mind. The other person started at $3500 and said my garage floor would probably need extra cleaning/prep. This would cost me $4k total
That seems very high. I know a friend of mine got a quote a few months ago for 250 for a 'double car' garage, but one on the smaller side
I realize they'll get it done in one day, but those kits/materials arent very expensive + labor costs
My manager at my IT job had a company do his garage, similar sized for $2K. Looks like the floor at a NASCAR shop.Ok - I got a quote from someone else with fantastic reviews. They said for a standard size garage 20x20 I’d be looking at $2k with it taking one day.

I'm looking at coating/sealing the shop floor when it's had plenty of time to dry out. It's an expensive thing to have done, if the 2k includes the cost of the etchant, primer/sealer, base coat, color flakes and top coat that's prob not too bad at all.
If you're just going to go old school epoxy that takes 12 hours to harden then you can do it yourself pretty easily. There's all kinds of youtube videos on how to prep the surface, how to apply the layers, etc.
Unless you're going with the polyaspartic stuff it seems to be pretty forgiving as long as you don't have moisture still wicking out of the slab or oil in the slab. Plenty of places sell it as kits with the squeeges, spiked shoes, mixing buckets, etc, all shipped on one pallet.
The main drawback with the polyasparitc is how quick it hardens, but I've seen a couple companies that sell a thinner to slow down how quick it dries to be more like 2-3 hours to give you time to work a larger area if you're new to it.
There is also a couple places that do a more traditional epoxy primer, base, color and then a polyaspartic clear/top coat so that you only have to worry about the last coat of clear.
Need to be very clear on the coatings they use when you start comparing people, you can spend $2 a sq ft or you can spend $20 a sq foot, sure some of it is markup, but a lot of the difference is UV resistance, abrasion resistance, does it have anti-slip in it, how thick of a coating it will dry to, etc.

Keyword "my wife thinks"..........My wife thinks I’m crazy to pay 2k for something to park my car on. I’m pretty excited about it on the other hand.
Parts came in today... Should have everything ready for the weekend to start mechanical repairs on the RV...
