Not sure this is the proper forum for this, however...
Anybody know who's running Midway now? Is Porterfield out?
To me it's not the company it used to be. I've been buying from them since the 70s(?) but have been disappointed as of late. No, it's not the covid although that's what they're trying to hang their hat on.
Brownell's has problems but they're chugging along.
 
Shipping is slow with most outlets as they are all slammed with orders snd running out of lots of things.
 
I ordered two mags on June 29, nothing has shown up, and the UPS tracking shows no data. I asked them about it yesterday, no response yet.
 
UPS has issues right now too. Tracking info has been very inconsistent. Might be a UPS problem not a Midway problem.
 
No issues here, ordered a red dot at 1630, got the shipping notice at 1700......

Haven't had issue one with them since this BS started
 
I ordered some stuff from Midway about a week ago- showed up today.
Think it's probably overall shipping, not just Midway related.

ETA- I got the email apology too, but I've ordered a few things over the past few weeks.

Gotnseveral things fr I m midway over the last 2 months. Mags and ammo plus some other stuff. All shipped next business day.
 
I got the apology letter, assumed it was a form letter but it had just taken 14 days for my shipment to reach me so I thought I might be special.

It's not signed by Larry, btw. it's signed by Matt Fleming.
 
My last midway order made it to AK quickly for dad's bday in June, quicker than estimated even.

I have had other vendors with inaccurate inventory and/or several day delays to get it moving. Most have moved quickly once in motion, have one very small package that USPS can't seem to get out of Portland to anywhere in over a week, in transit to next facility or some such.
 
This is why I only order from Basspro. Ordered 9mm April 22 and after only 10 delays they have a fast ship dat of July 31-Aug 10... well until they delay it again....

I got that same email. I ordered two pistol braces from them and got them in 5 days. I wasn’t upset by that.
 
Larry Potterfield is CEO and Matt Fleming is President now. Once upon a time Larry was both. He is preparing and grooming Matt As his heir apparent for the company. I am guessing his two adult kids don’t or can’t run it.
 
Right now it all depends on what you are ordering and how it is shipping. Midway USA is no better or worse than anyone else. IMHO.
 
I can imagine most anything you buy for the next 6 months is gonna be hit and miss. Thankfully transportation has been available. But like was said before, UPS has been spotty.
 
I've had no problems with Midway. I do order most of my stuff from Natchez. Being in Tennessee they usually run a day or two quicker. Lately have had better inventory on the stuff I've wanted.
Pricing is about the same.
 
No real problems with Midway. Although, before the COVID mess stuff usually got here 1 day ahead of schedule. Now it's a day or so behind. I think it's partially due to very high demand and as mentioned the shipping. I always think it's funny when I order something late on Sunday night and within a couple if hours the order is being processed. It's usually shipping the next day. So, I think their systems are automated.

I got one too, thing is I ordered a CMMG Banshee in 45 ACP about 2 months ago. They had it shipped to my FFL in like 3 or 4 days, very reasonable.

Ordered some magazines Sunday night. Got order confirmation and then order processing status late that night. Shipping confirmation Monday stating estimated Friday delivery. Pre-COVID I would have received them on Thursday. Did I get them today, Friday? Nope. :(
 
I ordered primers Saturday and got the shipping notice Sunday night. Of course, for the price I paid, it better come on a red carpet. :mad:

Yeah what’s up with that! I was getting ready to order some magazines, an estimated shipping was 8/11, but if I paid 30 bucks I could have it via FedEx 7/24

Today I ordered a Silencerco Direct Thread Mount that can't be found anywhere right now, despite the estimated delivery date of August 10. Within an hour they said the order was preparing to ship. I've never had any problems with them and always been very satisfied.

Recently they have expanded into fishing and other outdoor sports. Seems like they may be trying to fill in the void that was created when BassPro killed Cabela's. Many of my lures come from the fact that no matter what I buy from Midway, it seems I'm always $5 short of free shipping.
 
I ordered from Midway on Sat, projected delivery date tomorrow.

It got here today. Still reliable for me!
 
Was supposed to get ammo today. UPS says left at front door. I got nothing. Hopimg they will replace it. But it blows my weekemd plans of figuring out the best bullet for my 6.5 cm gas gun this weekend.

Contrast my Midway experience (UPS shpg) with the other order this week: FedEx left a box of ammunition labeled ammunition IN BIG BOLD LETTERS on my neighbor's porch! Fortunately, they picked one who isn't a lefty wacko...
