Optimus 9 Gen 2

I'm excited about this- they claim up to 9db reduction with the new baffles. I guess we'll have to send it in to get re-baffled?
 
Weird- I mean- what's the 'cost' of disassembling the suppressor to get the baffles out? It's just unscrewing the blast chamber, and the locking ring in the front. I'll be glad to send just my stack of clipped baffles. I wonder if it covers the blast baffle or just the stack?

if a suppressor has not been cleaned, taking them apart can be difficult and time consuming.

I suppose- but the Optimus design is pretty easy, they give the tools to take it apart (and have made it better with new wrench flats now).

maybe it has to do with receipt of a serialized part and having to sign it in.

They still have to send all the parts in...not just the baffles.

time versus money

probably encouraging as many as possible to send them in disassembled.

if 75% show up taken apart, that’s probably a fair bit of time they don’t have to put into it.

could be an entirely different reason I’m not familiar with...just guessing

"The Optimus Gen 2 Eco-Flow baffles are compatible with Gen 1 Optimus silencers. We will be offering this as an optional upgrade in the next 1-2 weeks. This upgrade will be available for purchase on our website. The upgrade will require users to send in the silencer so that the baffles can be exchanged one for one, in accordance with ATF regulations. I would suspect the cost of this upgrade will be somewhere around $125. We should have more information on this upgrade in the near future.
