does anyone know of any companies other than redwing and wolverine that make safety toe boot in EEEE or H width getting ready to buy new boots and looking at other options. its a bummer wearing 11 4E boots

I have wide feet and I’m interested in this thread as well. I hate buying shoes because to get them wide enough they’d be too long and I’d look like bozo.

The last pair of boots I bought and I’m wearing them now were dr Martin “Wellington”. I got the widest ones available and have been happy with them. I’m not sure exactly the size but know they are not h.

Wanted to add, I got them very wet several times and they came apart within 6 months of wearing them every day to work and on the farm. I called dr Martin to ask about sending them in for repairs and they sent me another pair free of charge. I didn’t ask for a new pair and was willing to pay for repairs but with service like that I’ll be buying more in the future. I think it was my fault they came apart like they did and now I have muck boots I wear around the farm. My “new” dr Martin’s are still going strong 10 months later.

good luck op

Have had a pair of Whites boots for over 10 years, just about due for a rebuild. Fantastic boots if you want a pair to last

Google Whites, Nicks, Russell, Wesco and there’s others that make custom boots for most feet. Also they are not cheap until you put on a pair and feel what it is like to have quality leather supporting your feet, then it’s cheap money.

What did you do that you think caused the failure? Surely getting them wet wasnt the issue

Danner boots and Chippewa boots. I use Danner for my ground work boots and Chippewa for tree climbing. I get them at Work boots and More in Waynesville NC. I have EEE feet like a duck.

Try 13EEEE... Up to a 12 there are options.

Not sure on the rating but I recently bought a pair of timberland pro series work boots with a composite toe that are the most comfortable pair of boots I’ve ever bought.

That is my go to boot for over a decade. They last a very long time.

After typing this it’sa little longer than I expected. My apologies in advance to the op.

In my opinion I was using them for everything. I know that’s sounds weird but I specifically got them for work. I would guess I walk a couple miles easily a day on concrete floors(at my job). We had just moved out to the country and I was wearing them out in the pouring rain to dig ditches and other stuff that now I think back on was pretty dumb. Anyway I would get them beyond wet at night and then dry them over the air conditioning/heat vent then wear them to work the next day. They would get dry most of the time but a time or two they were still damp when I left for work. After drying them this way they would feel stiff. After doing that a few times it seemed to take a tole on them and the leather sides came apart from the bottoms.

I had to send them back to Dr Martin before they would send the new ones which meant I had to buy another pair for work (had to have steel toed). So in the mean time I picked up a pair of Justin’s for work and thought I’d wear the Martins to church or special occasions. After wearing the Justin’s for a couple weeks they never really broke in so I switched back to the new Martin’s when they arrived. Still have the barely used Justin’s in the closet.
