Truck gun

In other news, it would be nice if PSA sent an order confirmation email the same day they charge the credit card.

Maybe they got the order.

Let us know in 3-4 weeks how that instock upper looks. LOL It took Primary Arms 25+ days to deliver an in-stock lower.

you don’t have an AR pistol yet? Holy smokes...get with it mannnn
I thought I was the last one to the party.....
He's old. Cut him some slack... They move slower and they're scared of the technologies at that age...
I’d just be carrying a rifle in the truck if the ATF and the rest of our betters weren’t so fuzzy about how you can carry them legally.

Whenever PSA ships, I'll be like all the rest of you cool kids.

Now if somebody will recommend a good bag to carry/stow that thing in I’ll be gtg.

I store my truck gun in an old Jansport book bag. I have a braced CZ Scorpion and it works great. Prior to the CZ I build a 300blk out pistol with the law folding adaptor. I didn’t take into account the extra length the folding adaptor added and it wouldn’t fit in a normal book bag.

I really think the key to a good truck gun is being able to store it conspicuously. Many of the “discreet” ar pistol bags are not very discreet. I also think the tennis racket/instrument cases stand out.

There are some threads out their on bags. I’ve got a big Eberlestock that is built like a tank and has tons of storage. I think @Derek8404 has something else too.

I think your bag options are kind of dictated by whether you want to actually be able to carry it for any distance or just hide it in your truck.

I have a Eberlestock Cherry Bomb, Vertx Gamut 2.0 and a Savior Equipment Covert bag. Like @CZfool68 said, it really depends on what you want to do with it. If you’re looking to carry it for any period of time then I would go with a Vertx or the GGG bag (just check the length on your pistol as it may require a folding adapter to fit in some of these bags) just want something to transport it in, then the Savior Equipment bag is the way to go IMO.

It’s a 10.5” PSA upper and a SBA3 brace. No folding adapter or suppressor.

my primary intention will be storage in the rear floorboard of the truck and maybe in and out of a hotel/motel room a few times s year. I don’t plan to carry it any distance.

I look at those PSA pistols deals and i am always tempted. So far i have resisted because i have turned into an AR snob.

PS. Fieldgrade if you get it and it jams like crazy post back so i can feel better about my choices...

My rifles are nicer, but I’ve a friend who built a PSA pistol with used parts and it runs like a champ. He also built a PSA rifle that runs equally well. I’d have bought a Barnes AR pistol if they hadn’t gotten gone so quick at the LGS up the road.

Definitely take a look at the Savior bag then. Would fit your uses perfectly and the price is excellent too. I have a review and some pics of mine somewhere on here, I’ll try and find the link

here it is...

I’m going to swap out the BCG and charging handle that comes with it for some better quality stuff I already have, and it will be on an Aero lower that I’ve built for it.

If you like lever guns but want the "pistol" version, Check out a mares leg. Seems cool and handy if you like lever guns. Good luck with whatever you choose.

So the smart answer is none. Leaving a gun in your vehicle is a great way to arm a thief.

With that,
I use my handgun permit as designed, I have a G19 on me and my back up is a braced CZ Scorpion.

If you want .308win I would find a braced handgun that chambers that ammo
There's nothing wrong with leaving a weapon in a vehicle if you do it right. Exhibit A.

That’s a cool setup what kind of vehicle is it in
You can get the vault for pretty much any SUV, but they aren't cheap. My uncle had this one made to his specs. I bought the Land Cruiser from him a few months ago and LOVE the truck vault.

My son shoots steel out to 100 yards with 9” barrel, a dot, and a brace on a 9mm subgun. Off-hand. No idea how it does it.
@Tyler94w , I can ring a 16” steel plate at 200 meters with a 9mm AR and a red dot, suppressed with subsonic ammo. Being a competent shooter only requires practice. You just happened to get started in the middle of the worst ammo and gun shortages in the last 5-6 years.

The problem here for the OP is that the lever gun cannot be concealed and considered accessible in the truck cabin. If he uses it as a truck gun and is pulled over he is subject to arrest for concealing a rifle.

I am a pretty avg shot and I can ring steel minute of man targets at 100 yards all day long with these braced pistols. I also have a CZ Scorpion that can do the same. If I am concentrating I can keep a mag in an 8" or 10" plate.

You beat me to it. The NC permit allows you to conceal only a handgun, NOT a rifle, large dagger or whathaveyounot. So any of that hidden behind a seat would unfortunately be an issue. I understand that a truck does not have a trunk but it is what it is.

20200624_071138.jpg Alriright gents, I am a little older and none of the instructions y'all provided were were written in in any crayon color other than white so I am lost.

You know how we are.

Besides, I am not always in a truck.

If I have this Pelican box in the back seat of my Truck or my Charger with an AR-15 pistol, a Sig 229 pistol and several magazines for each, am I in deep kimchee?

Depends. If you have a CHP, then you're golden. If you don't, then put a pad lock on it to secure them.

You are 100% set. The CHP will cover both pistols but you have the wrong model Sig. That one does not shoot on it own.

For a gun that can't shoot on its own!

I guess this is the motivation to pick up an upper and a brace. I’ve got everything else I need. What’s optimum barrel length and gas system for 5.56 in a pistol length to run properly? All I know is rifle.
I have a carbine gas SBR with 12.5 barrel, which I really like. But, I think having hard hitting 7.62x39 with the ergos similar in an AR is a plus.

What's in the Tupperware? Tactical bologna sandwich?

A 2 oz bottle of Lucas CLP, some Q tips and a few small cleaning tools.I

Everybody laughs at me, it's built into my genetic code to clean after shooting.

I think the Corps repaired my broken DNA with a cleaning kit!
