another rusty Glock

I really do have acid for blood. All this nasty humidity is taking it's toll on our beloved Austrian iron:

So you were in the movies a few years back.

Is your holster made of steel or did you just chain that thing to the back of your truck for 10 miles or so.

Could just be specific to your chemical anatomy. Years ago I dated a girl who couldn't wear gold jewelry under 20k, otherwise it immediately turned the skin it contracted black. Not over time, right now.

It’s your chemical make up. Know a guy who I ride bikes with. His sweat ate through the top tube of his steel bike. It took years to do it but it happened.

Reactions: Me.

There are some questions i want to ask, but i know better than to ask questions i don't REALLY want to know the answer to

Smart man. I'll go ahead and answer it anyway.

She smelled like pepperoni all the time.

I took a Gen 4 G19 in on trade, had very minor rust spot but heavy slide wear from bolstering but frame was in good shape minus the former owner putting super glue on it to hold down the talon grips.

I rocked it as was just heavily oiled until a ship I really like their work started taking work again and I sent it off to be black nitride and have front serrations done

My early G43 did this and Glock made it right. I took it to Smyrna and walked out with a new one, and two extra mags. After a few years of daily carry, the replacement Glock has zero rust ....

Gen 4? Isn't that a known thing with Gen 4's?
It is an internet thing but I have several Gen 4s including my daily carry G19 which I even take into the bathroom when I shower every day. The finish is worn shiny in many places but no rust.

I have an identical backup that spends most of its time in the trunk and has not rusted.

The G43 was notorious for rust but mine hasn't. I pocket carry it when I go to the beach. I am probably really lucky on this one as I have seen others firsthand that have rusted (unlike the larger gen 4s in my experience).

My 43 has not had any issue. I have seen other guns where they have surface rust.

When the Gen 1s first came on the scene a tester scratched the slide with a 20 Penny nail to test it for toughness. The marks on the slide wiped right off..the marks were made by the finish on the Nail giving up. Those first guns were the guns that Made the Glock The World Gun.
If any are interested in the Ultimate Glock test, check out Chuck Taylor's 300,000+ round test. I think it went 125,000 rounds with the original recoil spring.

I didn't know they would do this. I would certainly want to try Glock first if they might make it right for free or minimal charge.

Second to that, having some rust on the slide is a much better excuse to get Cerakote than my normal excuse of "it wasn't the right color"

Call the factory. They will tell you how to ship it. It was easier for me to drive there.

Is there any correlation to USA or Austria build with this? 43 models came from both places.
