Had nothing to do with the whopper. Felon was told by girlfriend that guy at BK disrespected her and in that culture that’s the worst thing you can do. Bk worker had to die.

Crazy & $40 refund was it the golden whopper or something.
Nope. People go grocery shopping at fast food joints so they don't have to cook or wash dishes.

Yesterday i saw a "family" order $44 in food only to walk out when they only had $25 in cash and no EBT to pay for it.

Average check some days runs close to $10. Not much you say but figure in those 60 cent cup of coffee purchases and see how it effects the average.

Maybe if the dining room was open to divert some of the crowd this wouldn't have happened?? But wait, she was "dissed" and that made all the difference.

"Disrespected" her.

I struggle a little bit understanding that motivation as a call for a need to administer "justice". Since I have lost any trust for government (bought-and-paid-for) behavioral "research" on ANY topic (as everything is political now), I have to make up my own mind on what's going on with the obsession in some cultures with being "disrespected".

I hear a Tweet or FB post that "disrespects" can be motivation for murder. It seems like civilization is moving backwards in a hurry, with half of the world cheering that on as some kind of progressive improvement. Maybe many people, way deep down, actually really yearn to be ruled.

It doesn't' change your point much, but when was the last time you bought coffee at a fast food joint?
you're looking at up to $2 now. once in a while they go on sale, any size for $0.99

Who in their right mind eats at those places anyway?
Listen, don't judge me for getting a large black coffee and 2 apple pies. this is still America and I'll do what I want.

Back on topic - I really don't understand murderous outrage about feeling disrespected. I ESPECIALLY don't understand it if my wife comes home complaining about something, because more often than not when I'm with her I see something she missed that explains everything. e.g. they're not ignoring us, their manager is giving them directions off to the side and won't stop talking long enough to let them come over to us.

I picture her going up to her man and screaming “Kelvis! Kelvis Rodriguez-Tormes! I was just disrespected by the whopper man what you gonna do about it?”

Now any of us would be like either “you high?” Or “wait, what are you going n about?”

I don’t understand their culture, but I know that I don’t like it.

Senior coffee and some fast food joints don't do $1 coffee or drinks. If you want profits in a fast food restaurant you don't discount drinks other than senior. Drinks are your #1 profit producer. That's why the cup is so full of ice. Having managed one, I see the numbers.

What’s the big deal, this could easily be a episode from Gunsmoke if not for the BK. This is the USA and we settle our differences with guns. Those dumb enough to lip off to a pissed off man over his lady suffer, ‘ain’t that right Chester?’

Went online looking for information about the protests for the systemic legal issues around releasing felons that have access to firearms.
I can't seem to find any info on the protests.
People are protesting though...right?

How can you disrespect someone that you have no respect for in the first place?

I had a guy tell me I was disrespecting him and I told him that he was wrong, because I had no respect for him in the first place. I thought respect was earned.

I'm going to use quote some day. :)

The other citizen who stopped the felon from choking him was lucky he did not get shot too.

When I was a teenager I witnessed my boss at a retail store get sucker punched by the "man" of a woman who was kicked out of the store hours prior. It's odd to care about "respect" so much when you truly have none for your freedom or any life on Earth.

Reactions: Me.
The less you have, and the less you have to lose, the more you tend to value intangibles.

I don't agree with this as a motivating factor. I know plenty of poor people who value the 'intangibles' of this world that wouldn't engage in this kind of behavior.

They know that no one can take away your self respect but you.

Your second point makes more sense to me. It's a selfish pride that causes people to value their 'respect' over some other person's life.

It's a poverty of the soul that causes this kind of behavior.

Lay off the main stream media. There are 330 million people in the US. 99% of the people here have common sense. We can’t stop a dumbass using a gun for the wrong reason no more than we can stop people from saying stupid shit.
Make examples of people who kill for no reason. That’s the kind of respect our nation needs.
