Luckily, we haven't had to use the black band very often. But, we do it to show respect to our CFF family whenever someone loses a close one.

I'm actually thinking one-a-month for a year. I'd have fronted it myself, but I'll gladly share the opportunity. I'd suggest that maybe the contest be open to 'members' who have been on board at least x [period of time] to capture those who are actually free-riding (a new member might join on his/her own after an evaluation period [I did] ). And I'd prefer that an admin set it up, since there will have to be both financial and entry management done. I'll do it, but I don't know exactly how that will work. :confused:

I guess you could make me an admin ...

Why not just go with the four winners for now,then make the contest a yearly thing with former winners excluded,
If people expect the one a month thing there is less incentive to join

I know this has been tossed around, but what about charging a small fee for those that want to list stuff. To me there is huge value in the knowledge, etc. of the firum to justify 20bucks....but the value of dealing with trusted people in BST is more than worth 20bucks. Can a non paid member pay 5 bucks for 1 year of using the BST? I mean i know thats not much but if it kept the lights on or made a few giveaways happen it would be great.

Not that i dont like the idea if giveaways for non paying members to see the benefit of membership... but honestly its giving something free to someone who wont cough up 20 bucks...doesn't seem like theyll appreciate it. I doubt they will suddenly see the light and start paying...just freeload for a year and let it expire.

I wouldn't mind seeing it go a step further, where non supporting members can view the bst but not participate in them unless they cough up twenty bucks.
Some have made big money off the site without kicking in a measly twenty bucks

And get offended when they sell so much or talk about selling stuff and you ask them to become a vendor
