I lost my best friend tonight. (Furry friend)

Terribly sorry for your loss, @SnowRooster. Patches looks like such a sweet boy.

Earlier this week marked six months since I said goodbye to my best little friend, Brewski. Surprised just how much it still hurts me, but your tears gradually turn into smiles (with admittedly, more tears) knowing you gave Patches the gift of a wonderful life.

I hope your pain is lessened knowing the only thing Patches knew was love. Hang in there.
 
So sorry for the loss of your friend.

I was chosen by Buddy the cat at the SPCA years ago, and he was with me almost 16 years. He's gone now, but the love and friendship we had was great!

I feel your pain at the loss.
 
Losing a pet will bring the toughest of men to their knees. It's crushing. Know you did your part to make his life the best.

Very sorry for your loss.......... The furry ones tend to make the best friends. Just remember that you guys got to enjoy the ride together for a little while and it was a good run.
 
Rest In Peace Lil'Patches. I haven't been on much lately and just now saw this thread. Losing a beloved pet is very tough. Sorry for your loss.

Rest In Peace Patches! It is obvious that you two had a great run together and you did the best you could for Patches especially in the end. It's always the hardest right thing to do. Patches is resting in the Shady Green on the other side waiting for you. I know I will get buried in a whole pack of critters when I get there myself.
 
Rough month, lost Diesel not long ago.

Today, our 12 1/2 yo Labradoodle Shelby just dropped over succumbing to a major stroke event. She seized for a few minutes before God gracefully allowed her to rest before I could even get her to the Vet's office. She has New a loyal friend full of laughs and returned allot of love.

My wife is a wreck!

My condolences, @Ben Jefferson . We lost our Labradoodle last year. Bear was an impulse buy my wife made when she rode along with a friend to pick up a dog from a breeder. I was pretty upset about it, and, for the first two years, that dog was a PITA to deal with. When he passed away at 14, my wife took it pretty well. I did not. RIP, Diesel. You and Bear wait at the Rainbow Bridge and we'll all party when we're together again.

I’m sorry, man. Beagles are the best, I’ve had a half dozen. There’s a beagle out there right now that needs you. Look up your local beagle rescue organization.

Sorry for your losses. Losing a close friend is always heart-wrenching.

This has always comforted me:

When asked, “Do dogs go to Heaven?”, Evangelist Billy Graham answered, “God will prepare everything for our perfect happiness in Heaven, and if it takes my dog being there, I believe he’ll be there.”
