Anyone seen one of these in person? An all steel SAO 92FS with a properly mounted thumb safety. Checkered front and rear grip straps. Dovetailed sights front and back.

sheesh, is that entire slide laser micro-engraved?

I am a big fan of the 92 design but this doesnt do much for me. SAO???? Seems kind of silly on a 92. Safety location is great and one of the reasons I carry an older Taurus over my Berettas. Kind of wish Beretta would make it a standard option on the 92. Steel frame is nice. Heavier slide with removable front sight is also nice.

If it interests you by all means get it. Its pretty hard to lose money on a special Beretta. They have a huge cult following.
I think my vertec brigadier elite is worth over twice what I paid for it now.... and they sell easy if thats a concern.

If those things didn't fit my hand like a brick, the right side up safety might convince me to go Italian.

They have very thin grips for berettas now that change the feel. You also have the vertec frames that feel like a 1911 in the hand. I basically grew up on the Beretta 92. They are probably one of the most comfortable designs to shoot.... easy to hit with as well. Just very nice well designed handguns that run and run and run.

I shot expert with the M9 & I know they're good guns- the grip just doesn't play well with my hands & I've got some big ol' mitts. Plus, if I'ma carry a duty sized bottom feeder, it'll be a 1911 in .45ACP.

Those are nice too! Always best to stay with what your comfortable with when possible. I carry lots of different stuff. 92s are just one of them. These days everyone is looking at their phones so concealment is not really an issue... even a 92 or 1911.

No more silly than a Hipower or 9mm 1911 or SA CZ75.

I am picking this up today from my FFL

A single action CZ75 is kind of silly though isnt it? I must be missing something with all these double action designs being modified for single action only. Whats the deal?....Zero creep on the trigger?

Sub 3 lb trigger with 100% ignition and under 2mm reset. You can turn a CZ75 trigger into an on and off switch. For some applications it is desirable. Nothing silly about it. You are taking the CZ, Sig or Beretta ergos and making it a SAO gun. You end up with a better trigger pull on a SAO variant. For some it is highly desirable.

I have traditional DA/SA 75Bs and Shadow 2s etc... and almost never run them as a DA/SA gun.

I get it... Sub 3lb trigger is crazy light for me. I can see it being desirable in a competition gun.

I was wondering about the wisdom in making my Shadow 2 a flat trigger SAO rig.

You are good at taking them apart I bet you could pick up the kit from CGW and it would be awesome. I think their pro kits really help setup that short reset. On another note I just picked up the LTT Beretta Compact. It might be the best DA trigger I have ever felt. The frame is perfect for my little girly hands. With the curved based plate on the Mecgar 15s it fits me perfectly.

92 compacts are sweethearts and fantastic carry guns. Perfect size and still handles like a full size. I never understood why they were not more popular. Kind of funny how some older guns are making a comeback now that everyone thinks the 9mm is the best cartridge ever. Used to be bottom of the barrel.... now everything has flipped. Seems like all the new shooters (and even many older) shun things like 40 and 45 now. Pretty bizarre.

Are you planning on carrying your new Beretta? Have you shot it yet?

Did not get a chance to shoot it today. I may carry it but I am partial to carrying one of these alloy BHPs built by Don Williams for me in the colder months.

Summer carry is a Sphinx Sub Compact 9mm. 9mm has always been my caliber. I also love 45 ACP but do not own any 40 S&W anymore and have not for about 10 years. I will put the Beretta threw its paces and see how it does.

I love the bobbed hammer. Sights are great. The DA trigger is S&W 27 smooth.

Yeah...... I dont think that Beretta will be replacing that Hi-power...thats a preety sweet pistol BTW. It might though.

I will be absolutely shocked if you dont like that Beretta. My 92s are probably in my top 2 or 3 favorite pistols to shoot. I cant really say one negative thing about them. Just a great classic pistol.

Well, the SA questions was answered with ā€œcompetitionā€ and trigger considerations. Although some carry SA CZā€™s.
But CZ has a whole line of SA 75 variants, and large frames like the Tactical Sports and Chechmate.
I see no reason a Beretta couldnā€™t perform a similar function?

At any rate, to each their own, and the DA/SA makes sense for a lot of applications, including stock pistol classes in competition.

I have never owned a beretta. I have always admired them and wanted one. I really have a stiffy for the inox vertec. Sweet Jesus is it fine looking. I would like to own one of them at some point. Kinda went the CZ route instead, but if money were no object Iā€™d have both!

I myself have never been a huge Beretta fan. I own a 92S, 82, 85B and now this LTT Beretta Compact. I love my CZs and the work CGW did on them but man this thing is slick. The DA is 6.4 lbs but it doesn't feel like 6lbs. It is so smooth. 3.8 lbs on the SA with a super short reset.

Honestly if this thing runs like I think it will I am going to be looking for a 92 Elite LTT Full-Size. I just missed one with a few nice upgrades and a Palmetto Leather IWB for $1150. Basically would have gotten the IWB for free but someone snatch it up.

Well that sucks. That means I am not trading into a Langdon Gun. I hope you pizza crust burns and yours mags fail to feed. :p

They are not as huge as people make them out to be. I used to read people talk so bad about them you would think they were larger than a desert eagle. When I carry a full size 92 (actually a taurus) I dont have a problem with it. I think people are just used to carrying little pocket 380s. I usually tell them a gun is a gun when you have a CCW permit. You can carry a big ole semi auto mac11.....makes no difference in the law.

Smallest gun I carry is a Makarov and that mostly because I am so darn accurate with it. If I carry anything smaller its a secondary. Only exception is if I am running I will pack a modified Keltec P11 ....heavier guns bounce around even with my home made bounce proof holster. I am working on something different though. My first dealer was an old guy and used to carry a full size Beretta 92 for his primary and a colt combat commander in 45acp for a secondary. He never had a problem.
