The Galil ACE is a stunning firearm right out of the box, but the stock handguard leaves a bit to be desired on an otherwise almost perfect gun. Thankfully, Midwest Industries and RS Regulate make modular M-LOK aluminum alternatives.

Although I favor RS Regulate for my side-mounted AK optics, I went with the MI handguard for my ACE handguard. This was a purely cosmetic decision - I just think the MI looks better. These handguards are available in 6.25", 10", and 12.5" lengths. I went with the 10" version because it sits flush with the front sight post.

Installation took all of five minutes, and it honestly looks like it came stock on the gun. Fit and finish are 100%, and MI includes a picatinny rail section with the handguard - a nice little bonus. I got a good deal on a Zenitco RK-4 vertical grip, so that will go on once it gets here from Russia. Very satisfied with the way this looks, and it's much more comfortable and solid to shoot (those stock handguards are a bit rattly due to the removable plastic rail covers).

Anyway, I think there are a few fellow ACE owners on here, so I figured I'd share. If you are on the taller side and/or you prefer a longer grip technique, in my opinion either one of these handguards is a must-have for you guys.

I'm considering the MI rail for my Scorpion. Looks like a quality piece. That Ace one looks great.

Quality, yes. I just looked up the handguards for the Scorpion and they look awesome!

I like the looks of the MI Ace rails much better than the RS Regulate ones. I have not tried out my pistol yet, but just from handling it, the plastic handguard seems to shift a little and it is a little annoying.

I used some masking tape on mine - put a couple bits underneath each rail. Solved the rattle completely, but it's a pretty silly "fix" for such an expensive gun.

I havent noticed fast heat build up on my ace, but its 308, so not doing a bunch of mag dumps either.

@charliesgrave still rock solid. I haven't even had to retighten a single screw, and heat hasn't been an issue either. Overall this is a very quality piece.

Ive got one of those handguards aswell, no heat issues here....well designed gear all around.

Nice., I own one too. Will adding the imported RK vertical grip be an issue with 18 U.S.C. 922(r)?
I'm a trouble maker.:(
Note, the Galil Ace is assembled in the US from imported and US parts under 18 U.S.C. 922(r). You should only use magazines made in the USA in your Galil Ace. Use of an imported magazine may put you in violation of 18 U.S.C. 922(r)

Nah... thats just an accessory. If adding imported accessories to the rails on railed firearms made them 922R incompliant, imagine what would happen on gunbroker, armslist, and your average pawnshop shelf lol

As an aside, Ive really warmed up to the Arisaka Defense vfg's in Mlok. Lighter then a Magpul MOE, made of aluminum, super no frills, and fits the MI handguard very well.... I highly suggest checking them out, to anyone.

Was out shooting my ACE, and I discovered something.... that black handguard gets WAAAAAAAY hotter sitting on a table in the sun then from actively firing it. LMAO :D

I didn't end up getting one for my Scorpion, but did get the MI rail for my Zenith MP5 clone. I also had 2 MI AR rails and they are all stellar.

If there is a threaded center section, then yes the 556 version (MI-GA556R).

Mine did not (must be an older one) and it was very noticable (MI-GACER) - there was a single bolt I believe.
