.

We just experienced a small earthquake in Clover, SC
Anyone else felt the ground shake?

Think we just experienced a tremor, near Kings Mountain.

Yes, I was about to start a thread when I figured I should check new posts first.

I've felt several over the years, and this was the strongest one. I could hear the framing of my house creaking. Surprised nothing fell off any shelves.

Woke me up in Davidson County
House creaking etc

At about 8:10 this morning my dogs started barking and running around for no apparent reason. Within a few seconds the plates in the cabinets started rattling followed by a loud thud that shook the whole house. My NextDoor app immediately started blowing up with people reporting the same thing. Assuming a small earthquake. 2020, the year that keeps on giving. Waiting for the locusts.

My house just shook in Charlotte around 8:10. I don't know what it was? I hope it was a quake and not just my house falling apart.

Back in my school years I experienced a 5.1 in NE Ohio. It was rather scary. Watching the CMU block walls start cracking apart, the light fixtures started popping open, and these pulsating pressure waves that kept hitting you. Others said they saw things like the basketball court gym floor started waving like water and block pillars wobbled like putty. Don’t care to repeat the experience.

Got those already, just not this continent.

Well, I was going to say the mods will be busy consolidating all these threads and here it's done. :D

WSOC just reported that a 5.1 was about 100 miles north of Charlotte.

Just had an after shock at about 815 AM 8/9/2020. In Leicester nc Shook everything in the kitchen and the glass table on the deck was a rockin!

EDIT Maybe it was the Charlotte one we felt?

I’ve heard from friends all over the CLT and Hickory areas, and over to Burlington who felt it. I’m in Davidson/Huntersville and didn’t feel a thing nor did my neighbors. Guess my neighborhood is on a shock absorbing base or something.

I was mowing and apparently felt it. My mower felt like it was running over bumps. Then a few minutes later my wife told me the whole house shook.

I’m in Lexington

Felt it here in Terrell. Had a few happen that you could feel around this area over the years but this is the first one I ever felt.

Doh! In my defense, your honor, the thread title of the other one is misleading! I move for thread duplication acquittal!
My bad. It wasn’t big deal with me having been through bigger earthquakes in CA - just being glib about 2020
