I might be taking on the task of helping someone move some ARs (if I don't just buy them, myself).

They are all pretty much entry level, off the shelf type rifles. Some were close to $1k when purchased new, but I think they are all still unfired. The owner is more of a collector than shooter.

Instead of researching each brand and model, because I'm not certain the masses are overly concerned with that right now, how would one go about putting a price on these? Is it a fairly safe bet that a rifle would sell if it was listed at 10, 15, 20% over the known purchase price when bought?

Example: One is a Sig M400 that was bought new for about $900 (which was retail). Is it reasonable to think that an Armslister would pay more than that today?

Thots?

Add $200 to each one for the Armslist crowd.Maybe more?Low end stuff sells quicker as you well know.Find the right goober and $1500 a pop may happen if you can deal with all the BS.

I was in a local Gun Store/Indoor Range Saturday. They had 5 handguns in the whole store. 3 older S&W revolvers and 2 Ruger revolvers. 1 AR just hanging for bait of conversation I guess. Pitiful...

If was selling NIB factory complete AR15s like a Sig M400 right now on Armslist I would list them for $400 more than I paid for them and see who bites. A fool and his/her money are soon parted.

I’m just glad to see the mark up’s suggested for armslist and not the forum...

Its not quite that bad overall at my work.... but its getting close :/

But its hard to get anything now.
Its driving the Boss crazy.

If you keep your eyes open there are still good deals out there. Just not a lot of stock out there...

He doesn’t want to research each brand and model, how many does he want to move?

If he bought at the height of the last panic then he’ll get his money back, if he bought 3 months ago a 30% - 50% bump should be possible.

I don't want to research each brand and model. I was looking for more of a blanket pricing scheme. Maybe a percentage or straight up dollar amount to add to what was regular retail.

As far as the number, it could be as many as 14.

People I don't know are generally judged favorably from the get-go if they're familiar with my favorite movie for getting close to 50 years.

"Bettin' on forgettin' all the troubles that he knew".

Ha, but if you just found it on a random GIF site, nevermind.

Hate to disappoint you but that’s simply my go-to approval gif. But don’t let sway your opinion of me. :)

Same happened to me. The only ar was fancy looking so i decided to check it out. The lower said ar 15 on it and the guy said that was the manufacturer. Ive never heard of them but the gun had bells and whistles galore and was 999.99. I noticed the birdcage was on tight but the holes were aligned with the left side of the gun and not the top. I showed the guy and he just shrugged and said somebody will buy it. We laughed. I left... Crazy times

how does a gun store even stay in business with that little inventory?

FGG does because Clay and his crew stay on the phone and interweb keeping in contact with A BUNCH OF HIS CONTACTS FORMED OVER THE YEARS he’s been going his business. In fact they got in about 2 dozen Barnes Precision Carbines yesterday. Clay especially has almost ESP when it comes to when to start building inventory for a rainy day and then where to go secondary market when his regular channels dry up after that rain.

Mine too ever since it came out.

I was 15.
Cut a bunch of trees down and built a log cabin.
Fun times.

Just jumping in here on a late thread, but I feel pretty lucky to have known and been buying from FGG since they were just a year old in that little shopping center next to Tres Magueyes, then moved into the former dance studio, then into their current location. I bought a DPMS AR-10 off him probably 10+ years ago, but just went in and got an AR-15 (the common M&P) a few months back. I think I got in just as the rush was really hitting. I saw the writing on the wall and figured now was the time! I was ready to buy a higher end piston based, chrome lined AR, but took what I could get. If FGG didn't have it, no one else would.

Hopefully this panic will end after a year, but if it isn't I feel "ready" and every single thing I've bought has come from FGG.
