Noticed a small chip on the glass top today, not sure how or when it happened but everything online says not to use it now.

Is it fixable or need to be replaced?

9mm for size reference

Probably needs replaced. I would say as soon as you heat it up(where the chip is) it will crack all the way through. Knowing it's gonna happen you could try the other burners to see if they will make it crack. Just don't be close to it.

Dang! Wonder if it’s worth anything? We paid $900 for it last year but my parents are changing their stove out to NG soon, we may get theirs to help save some money.

it’s a LG model # LRE3061ST

I had to pay $600 for a new glass top 10 yrs ago and I installed it myself. I say go for that hand me down unit.

Happened to me on a whirlpool glass top range a few years ago. Dang replacement glass cost $400. Swapping them out was easy though.

Highly likely to crack all the way through. New maintops are expensive, partly because of their size, shipping, and likelihood of being damaged in shipping. Being that it’s an LG, you may have a tough time finding the maintop, LG is known for having poor parts availability.

Try to polish the ding with a Dremel and #953 aluminum oxide polish stone.
