Got a new 1911!

I know enough about 1911's to know that I'm likely going to pay a pro to install the parts. ;)

My first 1911, I din't know what I didn't know. I ended up sending it in parts to a former colleague (unit armorer) who made it right. When I say "made it right," I don't mean "blinged out," but would actually shoot.

Fortunately, after almost 40 years, I'm smart enough to know what I don't know. I've learned that often, it's cheaper to pay someone to do it right the first time, than the F it up yourself, then pay someone to fix it.

I see these people daily that think they can "fix" their dentures. They always get charged Double to fix their mess.

Up until a few month ago, I co-owned a auto repair shop in town. Same thing. People try to fix their car only to F it all up, then bring it to us.

Back when I was younger and quite a bit dumber, I had a friend who was a mechanic, and when people (me) asked what he charged he would say:

"50$ per hour. But, if you help, it's 100$ per hour".
