.45 acp and .38 Colt super

Birthday .45 from the wife (top) and Officer's model .45 (bottom) from a Vietnam war Navy vet long time friend who is slowly dying from agent orange poisoning. He wanted it to go to someone who would appreciate it and I do.

Colt 1991 that is ugly but it shoots straight, always works, and will digest SWC bullets without a hiccup.

RIA .38 Colt super with 9mm conversion barrel. What a shooter!

This is the Series 70 MkIV I'd picked up....

I fixed a Barrel Over hang issue ( Which was mind blowing to see, as the pistol was produced in 1982! The gun shows signs of carry but it shouldnt have been feeding in that state  ), and then retensioned the extractor, and then fit a new oversized, flat bottom firing pin stop to prevent that same extractor from clocking...

After that I took a Novak Ambi safety that I purchased for 25$ that was missing the roll pin ( I replaced the missing pin with an over sized pin cut to size) and showed signs of attempted installation... it showed no signs of fitting however.

After ALOT of fitting, I got it functional.... then I took it all apart and trimmed and recontoured the safety levers a bit to make them a bit more "GI-ey" but still functional for my use.

I also put on a nice, un-buggered set of Challis Grip bushings, and installed the set of Jigged Bone/Stag grips my Nephew happened to spot on a dusty rack in a local gunstore.... Ive got no idea if they are "Stag" or "Jigged Bone" but they most certainly are not synthetic....

I think I like it... and I think it turned out well.
