Bass Pro / Cabela’s new policy

It is not an ID requirement. Anything firearm triggers an age requirement in their system. No information is taken just age verification. Some cashiers look at you and make a judgement some are not so versed.

My new policy: if asked for my ID to buy a non-age restricted or controlled item, I will ask to see the clerk's ID. If he calls the karen manager, I will ask for his/hers AND TAKE A PICTURE OF IT. Y'know, for my security, and why not? What are they hiding?

If they won't show ne theirs, I won't show them mine.

Yes. He didn’t enter any info in their system. Just annoying. Gotta fight these small battles so we don’t have to fight the big ones. I don’t want to give a freaking inch anymore. I’m done.
Wow, you must be young looking if they had to card you

Yes Home Depot asks for DOB for spray paint sales, when on the register I put in 1/1/1960. Up in Long Island, NY all the folding knives are locked up and sales are restricted as well. I recall needed my mom with me to buy a tube of Testors model cement back in 1968. Stupid thing is I could buy a gallon of acetone, MEK or turpentine without any adult present.

When I got a Wrist Rocket at Walmart, the young girl asks 'do you need any ammo', folks in line behind me were shocked, I told the cashier no, I use golf balls, I'm hanging antennas in my backyard for my ham radios.

Actually, spray paint sales are restricted in at least parts of the US. Here’s an excerpt from the Winston-Salem Municipal Code:

(5)
Sale at retail of spray paint. The sale at retail and use of spray paint is hereby restricted as follows:
a.
No person shall sell or otherwise transfer any spray paint to a minor unless the minor is accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at the time of purchase or transfer.
I guess here nobody thought anything about me buying 5 or 6 cans of paint at Lowe's a while back.
I forgot people snort the fumes, or whatever it is they did or do!
Would saying "It's for painting steel targets" freak them out?

Sorta related: some years back in Gander mtn. I was in line behind a young guy trying to purchase a tomahawk. They wouldn't sell it to him because he wasn't old enough. ?????? I took him aside told him to give me his $$, then I bought the thing with no problem, they didn't ask me for id. I met him outside, gave him the tomahawk, his change and receipt. I told him not to hurt himself as we parted ways.
Is that the kid that went on to become a serial killer? :D

You all know this has nothing to with politics or morality right? It has everything to do with law suits and insurance premiums. Just sayin'
